Error resulting in PC blue screen consistently.

Hello.

Since the last FFXIV update, every time I attempt to play the game, within 10 minutes the client crashes, followed by every other app crashing and my PC blue screening. This does not occur with any other applications and exclusively occurs when playing FFXIV.

At this point, essentially unable to play the game.

When did this first start happening? Do you recall anything updating/changing on your PC that coincides with this?

The first error looks like an audio-related error. What is your audio set up like (speakers, headphones, etc.)?

Hello - I started experiencing this issue directly after the last FFXIV patch and have not been able to play for more than 10 minutes since then. It's possible there were Windows 10 updates around that time frame as well, but unsure, as I have them auto updating. As far as audio set up, I utilize the Razer Leviathan soundbar, which has its own digital devices (but worth mentioning nothing has changed with that configuration and I have never had an issue previously and still do not with any other game or application).

Not sure what approach to take in regards to troubleshooting this issue, as it just appeared to happen overnight with the latest patch. From what I've seen, I don't think it's actually an audio issue, rather a more critical conflict issue that is causing issues with core processes in the OS and crashing audio, other applications, etc. My first thought is that it's something that was tied to DX11 that possibly changed and is now causing conflicting breaking changes.

I've seen others on the forum talking about similar issues since the last patch, so curious if they're related and what the common configuration may be.

Things I've tried so far, unsuccessfully:

- Completely reinstalling the game

It's worth noting, the blue screen is not every time, now that I've run into this countless times (10 mins after every client start). But something is happening within FFXIV which is crashing nearly every app that is running on my PC. I'm not sure if it's some task that is conflicting or what the issue is - but I only am experiencing this with FFXIV, since the latest patch, and am unable to play the game atm.

When uninstalling the game, could you delete all remaining Final Fantasy XIV files from the PC? You mention that the game crashes when other programs are being run at the same time. Could you try running Final Fantasy XIV by itself to see if it crashes? Also just for testing purposes, please try disabling the anti virus programs running in the back ground and then launch the game. Additionally please try downloading the game with a wired connection.

Update.

I'm now able to play, without crashing. These are the two variables that changed:

1 - There was a game update on March 6. Didn't see anything about technical changes, but could have been behind the scenes.
2 - Changed the launcher, boot, and client to run as Administrator.

It could have been one of, or both of, these items. But the game seems to be running now without any issues.
