Seperate inventories for crafters & gatherers

My inventory is currently filled up for 80% with non crafting materials… my retainers are filled up with furniture…

I would try crafting if I actually had room for crafting materials.
I don't want to be forced to pay for additional retainers that I don't need at this point.

So I suggest SE gives every crafter & gatherer a seperate inventory (as big as the standard inventory) so they can store the materials they need and carry it with them where-ever they go without it being in the way. I'm sure a lot of people would find crafting/gathering enjoyable again since it would improve their chances of having the materials they need "at hand" without having to look for them or without having to buy them on the market due to not having space to store them in the first place.

i'm assuming you don't have access to a house? you can buy an FC room or apartment and use it as storage. or if you do have access to a house and are the owner you can put the furniture into the storeroom. are you keeping around unnecessary equipment for glamor purposes? use the glamor dresser as storage for those.

As for how the inventory system in this game works they can't give crafters/gatherers special inventory bags for stuff. it's the way things are coded. its on you to not keep around things that are not necessary and pare down.

I do not have any glamour in my inventory. Its mainly filled up with gardening stuff I use daily, totems of farms I'm doing to get items or mounts, potions I regulary use airship tokens... stuff I need once in a while and that I like to have on me.
Still, you appear to ignore what I just said and miss the point. EVEN if there was a seperate storageroom, you would still have to make room in your main inventory to be able to craft and if you don't have room to switch items from one inventory to the other then you have a problem. I'm very fed up with having to play that puzzle game every time I want to do something. We allready have a seperate inventory for armor pieces, and a chocobo saddlebag (that is filled with materia in my case) so why not also make seperate inventories for each crafter/gatherer so you have a way to store everything you need right where you need it without all the hassle!?

just the way the game is coded. also the people that do not craft/gather would complain that another class is getting a benefit to inventory when they do not.

Unless you have max paid for retainers, it's incentive to buy more retainers. And if all 9 retainers are full, I think you may need to re-evaluate space management.

Why is everyone ignoring what I say...

If your main inventory is allready full with items you use on regular basis and you don't have more then 5 slots available... how is it a sollution knowing you'd still have to access an external inventory AND you have the problem that you inventory gets full all the time which is really annoying. I don't want to keep puzzling all the time and I'm sure a lot of people feel that way. I don't see how putting more money in SE pockets is going to adress that issue.

There's a sort by type setting which puts things into different blocks, so crafting mats get grouped together, as do meals and consumables, gear, etc.
Aye it's not perfect, there's room for UI improvements. I think the compromise people want is basically a display mod on the client side that makes it appear as though there are separate bags or compartments for different types of items, including the elusive fishing tackle box, without changing how things are stored and accessed as far as the servers are concerned.

Idk how feasible that is, but beneath the illusion of there being different boxes/bags it's still one big shared inventory so storing too many crafting mats means your tackle box can fit nothing. I think that's how it has to work for us to get those things, just a split inventory display option basically for the sake of finding things more easily.

They surely could make another "chocobo bag" thats only for crafting mats and is only loaded when you either access it or craft...

The secondary chocobo bag allready excists but only to those that have the companion app and pay for it...
My inventory is always full cusS I have to harvest krakka roots every day to help my FC, I carry a lot of items I need for raid equipment and totems and such form bosses that I haven't been able to get the mount from. I cant store those in retainers cuss those are full too with FC house furniture that I still need... and I don't have money for more... my chocobo bag is filled with materia (I keep them all).

you need to seriously re-evaluate what you do and don't need then. this system is not getting changed anytime soon. you do not need to keep every kind of materia for one.
