I would take over Costa del Sol.
I would take over Costa del Sol.
Well, there'd be way less lag or latency, in theory, so I'd be able to see the things when they're supposed to happen, meaning my death would be far less likely. Still, I'd generally avoid some "content," especially where I know other people would screw me over and kill me with their own shenanigans, though on that note I'd probably wait out the deaths of every last one of them...
So about a day; two tops.
If the game was like SAO I'd sure be a lot more cautious while outside the sanctuaries...highly likely not in one of the clearing FC's (guilds)...maybe earn a name as 'Marmot Slayer' er I can dream right?
Also, I'd prefer a situation closer to Log Horizon, where people who die without access to a rez have to wait about a week to come back, and even then with a fragment if their memories or soul eaten away. I'd gladly accept a FFXIV world like that, instead of perma-death. If PKing became a thing, however, I'd only hope people turned their ire on RMTs, and only RMTs. *shrugs*
I probably won't want to fight titan. I'll probably spend my days in the gold saucer ahahahaha!
As for something I would never fight is the coils of the bahamut 5 and great king moggle mog
I'd take over the hermit shack in outer la noscea and await the timely demise of the entire server. Once word gets out, someone will figure it's the opportune time to hit that denial of service button and we'd all be goners.
this game is sao in terms of permadeath, the only reason we as the players arent killed when we die is because we have the protection of the crystal. early on in the main quests you meet a team of npc "players" who had a party member perma die. in order to raise a player they have to be in a form of stasis that only warriors of light are permitted. without that protection you cant be raised. and while you may think that ff14 is more brutal in terms of bosses having overpowered abilities its important to note that in sao less than half the playerbase survived the game. and there were rooms where if you walked into them youd be trapped and unable to get out without beating the overpowered enemies that were specifically designed to murder you by a homicidal maniac.
pvp would be the clincher, because in ff14 you have more powers and abilities players might become drunk on their own imortality and youd have a lot more player killers than in sao, but with the playerbase being exponentially larger than sao youd also have a lot more safe areas with clans that would fight against them and protect the weaker players.
Living life as an adventurer whose only purpose is the eradication of marmot kind with extreme prejudice? Maybe befriend a White Mage whose party was recently wiped out by the fuzzy little demons?
I would just contact Catian home world and head back there. Then go on nice long permanent vacation.
I would still try to adventure, though a lot more carefully than I do now (so no more "I wonder if I can kill this thing boss creature alone" shenanigans) and it would seal me as dps. I already dislike getting hit, and if there was an actual danger to it? You can forget something like tanking...and having someone die on my watch as a healer would be horrible thing to bear D: I imagine duty finder would be either completely, or almost empty as running dungeons with a group you have no idea how good they are could be seriously deadly.
On the plus side, I imagine we would have a lot higher survival odds between the holy trinity, self heals and no open world PvP.
