Beware of Double XP Twitch phising scam

Update: May 09, 2019 - The scammers are now attempting to mimic popular ffxiv content creators as well. I've added an additional image example below.

In case anyone is out of the loop, there's been a rash of fake ffxiv accounts attempting to impersonate the official ffxiv twitch account. The account is attempting to lure users to a phishing site that mimics the ffxiv login page so they can steal account information.



The above is an example of what it looks like on the channels screen. They pop up under different usernames using the official channel's logo, a ton of fake users watching and the channel is always set to subscribers only chat. DO NOT follow any of the links.

Remember there is only one official ffxiv twitch account (has the verified checkmark by it): https://www.twitch.tv/finalfantasyxiv

Please keep your friends/family/fc members aware. The scammers continue doing it because it's working. Let's do our best to make sure they're wasting their time.

If you did happen to hand over your login information, be sure to immediately change your password. Should you have been locked out, contact support asap.

If you don't know how EXP works and are coming from the usual formula of MMO, it can easily work since double EXP in Chinese/Korean mmos is a big thing.

It wouldn't surprise me. I've gotten redeemable Wargaming Codes from external websites and that seemingly has no logical purpose or marketing gimmick. The codes worked and I got my free stuff. -shrug-

Youd be surprised. Ive worked for “the” company that makes phones and probably your watch, for a decade and ppl get phishing emails asking for peoples Social security #s, and something like 80% of the geniuses enter it in then call us asking why the password reset page says error on it.......

Even more hilarious when ppl try to argue with you over the error, and totally ignore theyve been duped into entering in their info refusing to believe its fake lolol
