ff12= ff14

I just started rabanastre and monastery quest line raid 24

and hmm,
is ff12 in ff14?

I meant there is mention of ivalice, and also ff12 and ff14 share the same kind of bad evil star wars empire under heavy armor and face helmet with big iron horn, and same kind of magitek ship and so on.

Also there is fran who directly act in the story of the quest, (i never liked ff12 btw)

and Fran is not just a random guest for fun, like we got vivi for hilidebear story
(btw i wonder if it worth to continue, cause, i dont feel very hyped by the story, the gag are kinda a remake of the first story that i liked, even did a topic on it that no one care here lol, but seeing the progression, i miss the sherlock holmes guy and this inquisitor replace him very badly, also antagonnist are funny at start, but start to become really heavy joke not really funny. so should i continue? also it is lack it miss something from first tale, dont know)

So is Ivalice is in ff14, meaning ff12 existed in eorzea univers but not anymore?

It's not connecting the games making FFT take place in FF14. They basically took the story of FFT and some stuff from FF12, reworked it, and made it fit the lore of FF14. So the games are not "connected" like say FF13 and FF13-2 are, just highly referenced.

Basically, Hydaelyn has its own incarnation of those areas. Similar but entirely separate.

It is important to note that the FFXIV-Ivalice is not the FFXII-Ivalice.
They've been heavly borrowing from FFXII, thats true - but "our" Ivalice has no connection from what you know from FFXII.

Same holds true for most other refrences from other (FF)-games: Even if they're closely resembling the original game, they're never excatly that. What is true in FFXII doesnt has to be the case in FFXIV aswell.

but i dont like when they do that, cause it gives confusion, and do a melt of several univers which have no real link together, why fran? why not another caracter.

I mean ok in soul calibur 2 heihachi come from a dimensionnal portal, that give some sens even if it is easy way to give.

But taking entirely a character from another game and put it here, with no real reason, and another story, it is just weird. ok vivi is in hilidbrand story but hilidbrand is like a side dream joke

However, just as there are infinite multiverses, so lies the possibility they aren't THE Ivalice from the original games. But since we didn't know anything of "the world beyond" Ivalice in Tactics and FF12, it could go either way. You could think of it as a different multiverse, or that it has always been a part of Hydealyn. That's the nice thing about FF series, is that a lot of it can cross over.

Omega and dragons are from another planet, technically. The other shards are seemingly part of a multiverse that was created when Zodiark was expunged and reality broke, and other beings like Ultima(and crossover characters, I guess) are from another plane altogether.

i dont find this character very interesting, beside the 12 was one of the worst ff i did, and i stopped the serial at this moment, and i dont like at all her design, they did so better in the past, i like final fantasy 7 to 10, and if 14 is cool, i dont buy all those stuff about rabbit girl and cat girl, japanese are known for their strange tast in some field of their society.

They talked about it during one of the live letters leading up to 4.5. The original plan was for it to be Balthier, but they opted to use Fran instead because we're getting viera in ShB. We're almost certainly not done with Ivalice given how many loose plot threads were introduced during Orbonne and in the second Encyclopedia Eorzea, so we'll likely see others eventually.
