    [IDEA] Housing area (Ishgard)

Would it be a lot to ask for a housing area (Ishgard) with only Large Plot?

After all, as players progress through the game, they want bigger houses. No need to create 18 wards, which would save Datacenter space/processing.

few ward will be enough to supply the demand of players, without having to pay abusive price to other players to reallocation.

Maybe someone who does not have enough money will not be so excited with this idea, but the frustration is greater when you have the money to buy the plot, but there are none available.

Not everyone wants a large. A lot of people shy away from them because 400 furnishing slots is simply not enough to fill a mansion unless you furnish in some specific ways. You have more freedom with mediums and cottages because the furnishing slot amounts are much better proportioned to the size of the interiors.

It would be better if Ishgard had something like no plot sizes, but you can build any house size you want on the plot and you can change house size whenever you want. That way everyone could get any house they want.

Make sense. this is a good solution.

About filling, I think it depends a lot on how you are decorating... Some design do not need lots of space (I have seen medium house with one floor only, the others blocked). But, some furnishing need a lot space, like a Piano furnishing or when you are using partition (this reduces the internal space).

As has been mentioned before, Ishgard would be a great place to start instanced housing or multi-sized apartments. It's not a large place - the city itself is built much like the Goblet, a "town" on top of a tall island-like spit of land. There's nowhere to build a sprawling area for housing. So I think this would be a good place to experiment, especially if the housing could be nearly unlimited, given that data isn't being given over to "always-active" open-world wards.

Not everyone wants a large, though. I've got friends who love their smalls and don't want anything larger, just as I love my medium and wouldn't want a large for an in-game home (though definitely would like a large for a FC house).

Nor can everyone afford it. It wouldn't make sense for SE to create a new housing area for only the richest of players and lock everyone who doesn't have the gil or want a large out of it.

While I agree that Ishgard would be better used to introduce instanced housing, it does include Coerthas. The reconstruction could be rebuilding Falcon's Nest instead of Foundation, in which case there would be plenty of room to add in a traditional ward area.

Wasn't there talk in the MSQ or some side story quests about them losing access to Eastern Coerthas and how there were sprawling areas there that would be great to build housing? Like a bridge is gone or some nonsense that should have been easily fixed already.

As someone who actually owns a mansion, sometimes I wish I stuck with a medium for the above reasons mentioned. I've got some cool looking areas, but it's so hard to make the place look lived in due to the small item budget for its size. I visited a fellow FC members medium the other day and couldn't believe how cozy and cluttered it looked (in a good way), while mine seems very sterile.

Unless the housing area was a chain of connected islands in the sea of clouds maybe...
