    Account Flagged for Suspicious Activity!?

    Over the last two months I've been constantly restricted from logging in and I've been receiving emails stating:

    "Dear Valued Square Enix Customer,

    Thank you for using the Square Enix Account Management System.

    Based upon recent suspicious activity, we have identified that your account may potentially be at risk. For your protection, we have temporarily suspended login access to this account."

    This'll be the fourth time I've had to reset my password and as far as I know my password is nothing bit of easy to figure out since it's not even a real word and the only thing I do when I log in is check the FC house and maybe do a little Eureka.

    Has anyone else been having this problem lately?

    This also has been happening to a lot of folks after logging into the website/store. It happens to me any time I use my phone or a mobile device.

    I went to the SE store today to preorder Shadowbringers and got that email as well. Giving SE money is somehow suspicious now.

    It happens anytime it detects that your IP changed (if you don't have a security token). It doesn't necessarily mean anyone is trying to hack into your account.

    Because its pretty easy to use the security token, it promotes account security, its free.

    You are being dismissive of account security. what got you all up in arms over a security token lol. I've been using the 1.0 CE token for what, 9 years now, never had a problem.

    Good for you for not having issues with it. People can lose their devices, or even get new ones and have issues with the token where they've had to jump through hoops. I've had issues with security tokens in the past, and I hate using them. There SHOULD be a way of people being able to label one device as safe or whatever, more so when they're throwing money at a big company just to preorder a damn expansion.

    Why is it only recently an issue to dare to log into their store?

    When I lost my security token after not playing for awhile, I called support, they reset my account with no security token. No problem, no hassle.

    Exactly. I haven't had to do that with SE, but I had to reset my SWTOR and Rift security apps many times with no issue. It's literally a form of two-factor authentication, not some big scam by "the bad guys".
