Manaquin Item Loss?

So I had some gear displayed (just displayed, not to sell) on a manaquin. And I ended up moving it from my fc room to my apartment.

When I placed the item down at the new destination, all the gear on the manaquin was gone. Is that gear just gone now? I thought it would have given me a message it if it would vanish the same way it does for a flower pot or blank partition.

Not the end of the world but I'm wondering if there's any way to get the gear back or not.

EDIT: Nevermind i found how to retrieve the gear, is there a way to delete or close threads?

Just leave the thread to sit and disappear into the abyss. In case anyone else runs across this in the future though, check the retainer's sell list (even for displayed gear) that it was connected to.
