    Repairing: Even better than before!

    Just got a little thought about when people repair things in real life and they say something along the lines of "I just repaired my boots and now they're even better than before!" So hey, I thought, wouldn't it be neat that when you're repairing an item in game, it'd have a very low chance like 1/100000 or something small, to actually result making the item a +1 when repaired making it "even better than before!" ? Of course the percentage is so low that you couldn't possibly abuse it, but hey, at least it'd make some people happy sometimes when it does happen? Also toss in an achievement for this if you do happen to get this done sometime!

    Anyways, what do you think of this idea?

    With the changes to how HQ will affect an item, and how much easier it will be to HQ an item with 1.21.
    I am against anything that makes more HQ items.

    Nice idea! I see a problem though.

    Considering the nature of a fair sized proportion of the players that frequent these forums, some would complain that they have to modify their gear swap macros

    Well, if you think about it, having a 1/10000 chance to make the item better is so low, that it will almost never happen. Basically, this wouldn't affect the economy or the amount of +1 items hardly at all. It'd just be a fun addition so that it can occur, although really rarely as I pointed out in the original post It's not about having more +1 items for everyone in general, it's about having a fun addition to the system. Just saying ^^

    I don't think this can be implemented with today system. NQ and HQ items are different items from each other, the +1 its not a attribute on the same type of item. Thats said the problem relays in that if they want to give you a HQ item for a NQ version they need to take away the one you have a give you a new item, and if the equip have materias they have to transfer them to the new item.

    Its not impossible but its messy enough to make SE say {No, Thanks you}.

    True though, but I'm sure there's ways to counter that. If not the 1/100000 chance isn't enough alone to make them understand not to keep trying it as it will most likely never happen for them anyways. It's more time wasted for them if they're actually trying to make it happen. People keep missing out the point that the chances for this to happen would be astronomically low. It's not meant to be happening often at all, just so that there is a chance for it to happen, even if the chances for it are ridiculously low. It's just something to spark an interest to repairing items when you're doing that

    i want max durability ( 99 as default ) lose on each repairing. and if max durability goes zero , item will be lost forever

    Although I appreciate the OPs mind set on this, I see issues of exploiting it. If repairing had a chance to make items better, anyone with a stockpile of darkmatter could just repeatedly repair back to back untill they achieve an improvement.
