    Black screen!!!!!

    i sign in just fine but after that all i get is this black screen. i was told to try and disable my in-game overlay so i did but still get black. i have reinstalled 3 times.

    If you try to close the game window, do you get the normal "Are you sure you want to exit?" message with the chime?

    If so, I have the same problem.

    no, i have no sound and i have no option to leave i have to use the task manager to exit

    are you playing on console or PC? If you are playing on PC/laptop have you checked if there are any driver updates available?

    Good afternoon and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

    Do you get an error message at all when the screen turns black? Also could you provide a screen shot in your next reply? Also, is it just Final Fantasy XIV that freezes or does this happen anywhere else?
