    Entire Wired Connection shutdown when playing

    Has anyone experienced this before?
    I'll be playing 14 for anywhere between 20 minutes to an hour, and then without seemingly any reason, my ethernet connect completely shuts down.

    I lose connection to Discord, 14, Web. Even if my connection had been fine the entire day.
    Soemtimes it comes back on its own and other times I have to manually disconnect and reconnect my cable.

    This only happens when I play FFXIV.

    Any ideas what this could be? It started happening about 3 months ago and I've tried different routers and cables to no avail.

    Hello! Please see below

    Platform: PC - Windows
    Connection: Wired Ethernet
    Solutions:
    - I've attempted using a different router all together, as well as using different ethernet cables.
    - I recently moved to a new house as well, with a stronger connection, and I am still experiencing issues on this new connection.
    - Utilizing a VPN (WTFast)
    - Updating network drivers (Up to date)
    - Changing power usage settings
    - Closing all background processes while playing

    I'm not sure if it's a singular issue, but any info would be great!

    Calypso_Atlas, thank you for the reply.


    I would recommend staying away from using a VPN as that can cause errors with our system. Is the FFXIV application allowed through the fire wall? If not, please make sure the settings are made to allow the game through the fire wall. Please also try the following:


    - Check to see if the following port ranges are opened on your router. You can contact your ISP and request they open them for you:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

    Hi Calypso, I would like to know if you managed to solve the problem. I´m having the same issues (I play fine for an hour then my entire connection malfunctions), although I use Wifi and the connection begins being on and off instead of completely shutting off.
