Just because we like Eureka doesn't mean we don't care about the relic weapon itself.
Why is it that every pro-Eurekan player thinks that "Not having the relic tied to Eureka only" = "Eureka only gets a piece of garbage ilevel 24 vendor junk"?

To say nothing about the fact that many people are talking about being able to work on the same Relic inside and outside of Eureka, meaning, at worst, Eureka players would still be able to play Eureka and get their Relic.

Literally no-one talking about removing the Relic from Eureka (Only) has at any point mentioned giving Eureka a bad item in its place. It's only pro-Eurekan's who seem to think that anything that isn't the Relic is going to be automatically trash.

OP in the thread mentions:

Then we could have a weapon for the hard core players. A weapon for those who like the Eureka-esque content. And a weapon for those who liked the original Relic content.

Then there'd be a weapon type for almost everyone to be working on to upgrade with.
Which is implying that Savage Raiders, Eurekans and Relic grinders will all have a weapon to work towards. Which doesn't suggest that any one is inherently inferior to another or that Eureka's weapon ends up being equal or worse than a Tome weapon (Which would be super ironic given that Eureka hands out Tomes like candy on Halloween and is literally the easiest place to farm up your weekly cap)

Heck, even on this page alone, I personally posited the idea of Eureka content being released at similar intervals to raid tiers, with the opportunity to upgrade your Eurekan gear to the same ilevel to that of raids. Only with the bonus of having some extra value within the ilevel sync's zone of Eureka. With potential even Savage ilevel upgrades available if they continue making BA style "End Game Eureka" content.

So yeah, I don't get the basis of the arguments against these kinds of suggestions.

Since, they're not only, not entirely detrimental to Eureka lovers (Since, if both Eureka and non-Eureka Relic farming exists then it's not as if Eurekans lose access to the Relic and have to start working on it like in 2.0/3.0). But also actively improve the rewards for Eurekans by implementing a source of upgrading a full set of gear (Weapon, armour, accessories) to comparable levels to what is attained through non-Eurekan means, where the difference is merely the content that it comes from. While non-Eurekans will farm Raids and Trials for loot drops, Eurekans will grind out their upgrades. Both would have to access challenging content for Savage ilevel upgrades within a raid tier.
