Real raiders can read a combat situation very well, and they will adapt to what they're presented with. They'll go ham on dps if it's safe to. The ones who cause deaths or wipes are unable to judge the situation properly. Or they don't even think to. Or in some cases they think it's beneath them to play in any other manner...which is just sad.

Unfortunately this kind of mind set have been spread so badly even newbies are following, they think they must dps at all contents
I have been dying a few time because the healer (with sprout icon) think they must dps. To a point I was kill by some low level content like Ravana

Or you could try using cooldowns? Also, every tank has an invuln skill at 50.

I have use everything to keep me alive to a point that they just too focus to burn down all the add and forget their priority
it am bringing this up is because i have see a few newbies got so much pressure from this mind set
and when i told them they could just heal if they are not comfortable, they told me they got the impression from the forum of not doing enough dps as heal is an big issue
I too encouraging heal to dps when they feel they could, but it is very important that what message we are delivering, it is a learning curve they should only do it when they feel more comfortable of giving out dps when can handle the heal

I have actually seen this happen in content of all levels. A somewhat odd experience like this is what made me allergic to tanking in this game. I had some weird luck one week - I got a streak of healers who just didn't heal. And this was in super low level content. I honestly found it so stressful to be constantly watching my hp bar get ridiculously close to death while often only my own cd saved me. I even had to use healing potions. Sometimes I died because I had nothing left to burn. It's so frustrating to be a tank sitting on less than 20% hp praying for just one heal while watching the healer spam stone.
