As you know, Square Enix has removed the ability to manually enter a character name into a command, which breaks /focustarget "character name" and has no upsides.
Well, I found another downside. I am unsure if this is at all related, but we were doing the Ghymlyt Dark and had one of the DPS offline. He didn't come back at all, but whenever any of us attempted a vote dismiss, an error saying "Unable to execute action. That character is no longer present."
The only feasible alternative after making it to the final phase of the dungeon was simply making up for our lack of DPS. Our attempts worked. But the fact is, this isn't always a feasible attack plan, and it could've been avoided if the functionality was, well, functional.
What's the point of being able to kick an offline party member if you aren't even meant to do it?
As much as I want the old functionality back, I don't know if this issue is caused by the change in how it works. All I know is that I don't recall this being a problem before that particular update.
