HW and SB will only unlock during early access of ShB.

I'm new to the game, like 4 days old. Was holding off until I saw the ShB expansion details. Now I'm committed.

Problem is, since I just purchased ARR, and pre-ordered ShB, I was expecting both HW and SB to unlock right away. But was told by support that it can only unlock during the early access period. Which sucks. I'm almost done with the MSQ and 1 quest away from hitting the lvl 50 cap for ARR.

Please unlock HW and SB for us new players. I want to go through HW and SB MSQs just in time for ShB's release. T_T

Not disagreeing with your request as such, but if you haven't reached level 50 yet, then you still have a lot of things to do before you are done with ARR.

I wasn't kidding when I said I'm one quest away from hitting 50. I was holding off not wanting to waste my EXP but what the heck. Got the i90 set and I just want to run through the stories of existing expansions. Imagine when ShB hits, we still have like loads of MSQs from old expansions to go through.

And once you reach level 50 there is still a lot of stuff to do before you can start on HW. About a hundred level 50 quests, counting only the MSQ. Plus about 20 optional dungeons, and some raids and trials. And a whole bunch of optional sidequests.

Yeah but all of those give EXP that OP has already said they don’t want to really waste. You can end up level 53~55 before you even start HW, so it would keep them from getting level-locked at least around the level ~56 range. I can sympathize.

Honestly, the HW+SB bundle with ShB should have been immediately accessible upon pre-order. They could have released a separate code to register those two expansions to your account, and keep the ShB code held until around the first of July.

Sympathies OP, that’s silly on SE’s part. Knowing a new expansion is just around the corner you’re obviously not going to buy hw+sb and then later buy ShB, so now you’re just stuck unnecessarily for months. Totally agreed the already released expansions should be unlocked for new players on purchase of ShB, or at least on March 1st.

By the way, those 100 level 50 quests are a nightmare. They will take a while to get through, and they're the worst in the game. Just remember, it gets better, try not to burn yourself out too much. Watch something on another monitor or TV or something.

The last few start getting better, up till then just spam click through everything if you don't already. These would be the offending ones, and personally I think they should mostly be made optional at this point, it's not doing the game any favors and they're notorious:

Also, I worried about the exp myself, even though I was told not to, and honestly.. yeah just don't worry about it lol. Exp is not what will limit you, it comes easily compared to MSQ progress.

I strongly disagree. Those quests are no worse than any other quests in the game, and some of them are quite fun. The later part of them is also the beginning of the HW questline, so worth paying attention to if you want to understand what is happening - actually most quests are worth paying attention to if you are interested in the lore.

There were a lot of fillers which sucks, but the rest were damn great. I've already convinced myself to purchase SB 'cause I want to see where the story goes in HW lol. Well after getting Gae Bolg Nexus for glam.
