Getting started, roadblocks right at account creation

The hoops one needs to go through to get an account and login are atrocious. I bought and started playing this game last week to the day. I ALMOST didn't continue forward, and would have cancelled the purchase had customer service been open.

After finally getting through the insanity of your account creation and having to link accounts and all the other BS, I have been playing and quite enjoying the game. Enough so that 3 of my friends have tried this game, and liked it enough to follow me from WoW.

Well, after THEY tried doing the account process, and then adding on the refer a friend process, you lost 2 sales, as 2 of them aren't even going to attempt all the crap they need to go through, and the 3rd one that actually managed to punch through layer upon layer of BS, didn't go through with the refer a friend aspect, so I lost out on that due to the process a person needs to go through before they even try logging into their bought and paid for account.

Your startup process if off putting right from the beginning, and your websites are to convoluted, and WAY to user UNFRIENDLY.

You have the makings of a great game. In fact, the play, music, scenery, story..all fantastic. But one other suggestion I would like to make. After someone gets through all the above mentioned stuff, the last thing they are in the mood for is a 500k word essay that is the beginning quests. It took me 4 times over the course of 2 years to get through that and actually start to level a character.

You could retain and gain a LOT more people if you would make your processes/website easier to navigate, and cut down on the wall upon wall of text in the very beginning.
I truly hope you at LEAST consider some of this feedback, as I would love to have a game like this to continue playing.

Its been awhile since Ive started the actual game (although I didnt have any huge issues with it) so I can't recall all the actual steps. However, one thing that frustrates you isn't accurate.

Your friend should have been able to either do the trial before upgrading to the actual game or even if he bought the game outright... he is still allowed to give you his code for the refer a friend process as long as he does so before he subs up (buying the game should give thirty days of play time).

The refer a friend has always worked in that way,
