    Road to 60

Hey guys. I just started about a week ago and I'm at level 36 right now on Diabolos. They are doing the Road to 60 EXP Boost and I figured that was a good idea to get my first main to endgame asap. I didn't think the EXP boost was going to be so substantial at first, so I did side quests and FATEs. Suddenly I'm 8-10 levels higher than my main scenario quest line. Because of this, I've done only main scenario quests to try and catch them up to my level, but I elude that with a steady 8 levels above them.

So basically: At this rate, will they ever catch up before I get to 60? Does this come across as sort of a story killer because I'm being forced to avoid every single FATE and side quest now?

I just feel like I may be missing out on a chunk of the game due to this. Any thoughts?

I am going to link my earlier thread a lot of good info about actually taking time leveling: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...Wow-Refugee%29 I was all about rushing until i realised how different this game is than my last mmo

The boost is really substantial, and the huge amount of MSQ quests post 2.0 but per 3.0 means you’ll definitely outlevel the story. Most people are 63-65 before even reaching Heavensward content. You aren’t really missing much, though, and you can always level up another class using the side quests and whatnot if you want to experience them.

Yeah I read thru that and it's got some good info. My only issue is I stopped trying to level quickly once I realized I was outpacing my main scenario so badly. Now I'm so far ahead of it that I literally cannot do other quests (aside from job quests and the like) or it will push me even further ahead in levels. When it boils down to it, it's no big deal really. I have a level 1 that I'm going to take my sweet time leveling when I do. I'm just thinking maybe the 2x for quests and 2.6x for mobs is a biiiit extreme for new players. I don't think I'd be 8 levels ahead if it was 1.5x for quests and 2x for mobs. It feels like the "Road to 60" is for players leveling a second toon.

If you're outpacing quests too much, the only way I know to avoid it is to level another job (or maybe two if you like doing side content as well) up to where you're at in the questline and start alternating quests between different jobs to split the experience between them. (It can be harder if you're quite a way in before deciding to do that, though.)
