Consensual ERP is a beautiful thing, but queuing for a random duty finder party in NOT CONSENT. Consent should be given freely, enthusiastically, and continuously. If any of these criteria aren't met, you need to stop. It doesn't matter if they were into at the beginning. They can stop any time they want. And you certainly shouldn't continue if - like me - the person never gives it to begin with.

also, "please don't report me for being horny' is not a defense. I join duty finders for EXP and tomes, not to be harassed by 'horny' strangers.

I don't think this is a big enough topic to warrant a rant thread. I'm sorry this happened, but it sounds like an isolated incident that should be dealt with a report and GM intervention rather than the forums

This actually happens more often than you think. I have a Roe with a bit of a sexy name (if you're around 50 years old, anyway) and the second these buttholes see my name in their party it's assumed that I'll 'play around' just because some teenager wants to wax his carrot. You NEED to report this. EVERY TIME IT HAPPENS.

Yeah there's a lot of unwanted sexual interactions sometimes, some of you probably just don't see it because you think it's fine. I used to have my character in what could be called a skimpy outfit (just because I thought it looked cool and not because I wanted certain attention) way back in the day until people kept making overt sexual comments about it without me even interacting with them, so I had to stop because I was so sick of it. I also dreading Dancer possibly getting a whip as a weapon as some people speculated because I feared a bunch of "whip me daddy" comments from people who wanted heals, so I guess I'm glad it didn't go at all the way I expected. People really don't respect boundaries online.

Actually, just changed from female migo'te to male elezen duo that. Was running around Camp Dragonhead and got a /tell "You are pretty, and that blush on your face makes it perfect to put you on my lap and get some slaps..." to start with.
Even asking polite to stop, had to log off so the person could stop.
Never as male had that experience before, people say my char is gorgeous and stop with that.
I wonder if female players and characters gotta Always experience that kind of disturbance.

It's quite a common problem on a lot of the MMORPGs that I've been on. I can see why so many people are put off by the occasional wolf whistle or joking flirtation when reprehensible people like that exist. Honestly. Young teens need monitoring on these games.

I've never had an issue in XIV, but it happened all the time in World of Warcraft. I've known about woman that specifically play male characters so they won't be harassed, My husband plays female characters and gotten propositioned a number of times. Usually telling them he's a guy is enough to get them to leave him alone.
