Crash when Respawn/Teleport to Kugane / Rhalgr's Reach

Happened me yesterday while leveling Blue Mage. Died at some point and respawned in Kugane as normally but, all of the sudden game crashed with a bunch of windows with this message appearing (some variants too).
This Crash happened yesterday (20-2-19)

Closed the game, re-open it and logged in with my main and the error persisted.
Logged in with an alter and game works fine (but I cannot teleport to Kugane (to test if it's only that area) since she's too low level). Got a trusty friend of mine log onto my account and move my character to Ul'dah (he could log on with no problem at all, so , it has to be my game files or something related) and, I could log on with my main, no problem and play. Tested this a second time (tp to Kugane) and, yeah, the error popped up again.

The main thing is... I never had this error, and I recall dying a day before and "teleporting" to Kugane was fine, didn't give me the issue. Even dying as well with blue mage and don't having this problem. Today I did some test and happened to me with different class too (Teleported as BLM, as SUM etc..), and, yeah, same.

(Everything up to date, windows updates, video card, directx etc..)

NEW**: I tried to teleport to Rhalgr's Reach and got the same error. As far as I suspect maybe it has to do with the Stormblood zones..? Faulty Archives/ Folders maybe?

I play always with Windowed mode. No Discord Overlay, Game Mode OFF, Nvidia Experience Overlay OFF etc..

Things I tried so far:

- Lower graphics
- Play in borderless window mode.
- Play with DirectX 9.0c
- Checked If I had something overclocked or whatever (nothing overclocked)
- Checked for Updates (Video Card Drivers Up to date / Windows Updates as well / Even checked my version of DirectX and it was the last version)

Most of the post I read of this ffxiv_dll11.exe plus and "Kernel32.dll" error ended up with --> clean install of the entire game (deleting even the Final Fantasy folder from documents and local files).
I may try it. Updating after some test. Oh and thanks in advance for reading this.

Just to double check, does this crash happen anywhere else in game or only when trying to teleport? When did the crash begin to occur, and does it only affect one character?

Hi! So far It happened only with my main character (level 70). The first time was when I "died" leveling my blue mage. At the time of respawn, Kugane loading screen appeared (2-3 seconds) and suddenly this error ocurred. After that , I clicked "ok" and the game closed. Opened again, and tried to log on with the same character, and the error occurred (closed the game etc..) -- the character selection screen worked fine.
So, opened the game one more time, logged onto my low level alter and , used teleport to other "capitals" (Limsa, Ul'dah, Gridania), but she doesn't have access to "Stormblood" areas due she's low level (I would test it with another character If I could).
So, asked a close friend of mine to log on my account and see If he could teleport my main to another area so I could log on. He did it, no problem with his game, and did me a favor to teleport my main character to Ul'dah.

So far, I tested to teleport my main character to other locations (all Heavensward locations, had no problem). And just in case, I switched clases to see " well maybe it just happened with the blue mage"... but no, the error popped up with all my other clases, with the same character. Each time my friend logged on and moved my character to Ul'dah.

Kugane was the first one that gave me the error, and just to test I tried to teleport to Rhalgr's Reach (being of the same expansion and a busy area to see if I had the same error). And... indeed. If I have to be specific, the error pops up at "2-3 seconds" of the "teleport" cast. All turns black, except for the chat and the "loading" wheel symbol that still runs.

The main concern is... on 19-2-19 I also died leveling Blue Mage and.. could teleport to Kugane without this error. (don't know hotfixes or if the game was patched .. didn't notice). The last windows updates I did were on 13-2-19.

At this point I'm thinking to reinstall all the game from scratch (seeing similar cases to mine and that was the common solution).

PD: Oh, also, I'm playing with my main in "none Stormblood" areas atm and I didn't have problems. Didn't test If this could happen with "Stormblood" Dungeons too. I don't want to mess with dungeon run of other players but.. well If I find more errors I'l update this asap!

Since this only happens on one character, have you tried deleting the local content. To do so please got to My Documents > My Games > Final Fantasy XIV and delete the files.

Also, please try doing a clean boot by opening the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC.

Hello again Dynratygus. I did all the suggestion of your past post but with no results.

Since that I deleted the documents folders (local files). Uninstalled the game via Steam and "deleted" the folder of the game (located in steamapps). Deleted temp archives and reboot the system.
So I did a clean install of the entire game (took me some hours). (Even did a repair/check on the HDD where the game would be installed to make sure).

After that I entered the game, logged into my main and tried to teleport to the "troubled" areas, it worked perfectly. Teleported to Kugane and Rhalgr's Reach and no problems at all. It loaded perfectly and the error didn't pop up. I may do some testing to other zones but, yeah, the error is gone it seems.

Everything points at something with "Stormblood" faulty archives / corrupted files of the game just in my disk (although I have no clue why that happened). So reinstalling the game looks like the sollution, at least on my case.
One suggestion I may do is that... there should be some kind of "repair local files option" in the game launcher itself (I don't know if that's possible to do, seeing how the download works).

Hello again! I've playing no problem for some days (no erros on teleport to any zone). BUT After the mini-patch from today, I was hanging on my guilds "house" and a similar error popped up when I opened "the Unending Journey" from the indoor furnishing... (with my main)
Tried to log on my other character, could not log in (error again). Tried another alter, could not (same server Ragnarok)... they where in New Gridania (one on the plaza and the other at leatherworkers guild). Tried a third one (Omega) that was in "Limsa Lominsa" Inn, same error came up. At this point I don't know what this could be.

Switched to "bordeless" window + DirectX 9.0c to see if that would work aaand tried to enter my alt that's in "Limsa Lominsa Inn". Omega Server. This is the error that appeared.

It only affected those characters that were on Gridania and Limsa Lominsa (Didn't try to go there with my main though, I'm afraid I'll have him stuck too).
I can ASURE that yesterday it was working fine (prior to the update), logged into my alter and entered the Inn, gone out etc... I don't know if the "launcher" can corrupt existent files or.. I dunno. Someone told me that could be Windows Defender "just deleting" some files at the moment of the update but.... no clue. (Also, I don't know if this is important, but I'm using the "Steam Version" of the Launcher)

PD: Also, to mention that uninstalling from Steam (completely, documents folder, steamapp folder deleted as well etc..) and RE-installing the game in the same Hard Drive has given me "Disk Write Error" --> but It actually got installed and I could patch the game with no problem(?) [6 hours to parch everything] (had to do a mini repair of it after uninstalling everything for the second time). Now I'm doing a (third) new install using the same Steam on external hard disk and no errors so far. I don't know if this matter since the main suspicion is "corrupted data" of the game files but.... well hope it gives hints or something.
