    Pre-50 DPS leveling

I've been trying to level some alt DPS jobs (Lots of 70 level jobs, armory bonus), still early on, pre-50. Running POTD, and it starts to get boring. I'm wondering if POTD is truly the fastest means of doing this right now, compared to waiting for dungeon roulettes. I worry that even if the dungeon roulette would give me more than 1 Level, in the time that it takes to wait and actually run the dungeon, I could just as well run POTD twice, which would amount to the same numbers.

Just trying to make sure. Thank you for your help!

As roulette bonus is once a day, POTD is really your best shot if you don’t prefer waiting for duty finder to pop. Do other stuff from time to time like challenge logs and beast tribes.

Personally, I've never found POTD to be all it's cracked up to be. Never seemed any faster than dungeons. If not slower. Maybe that's because I find it so boring, though. My suggestion would be to find a way to make it more interesting for you. The more you're enjoying something, the faster time will pass. But that's just me.

One way to make pre-50 dungeons interesting is to do them without a healer, or as an all-DPS party. And actually if you're doing pre-50, AoE options are limited anyways, so it's usually a lot faster. Assuming the party is actually up to the challenge. Up to Brayflox, I'd say doing all-DPS is a cakewalk. From Brayflox, you have to start getting creative.

I've never been all that fussed about doing things fast or easy, so I've barely touched PotD. As such, I also don't know how it can contribute to the challenge log (i.e. do you still vote for player comms, does it count as a dungeon run, etc).

But I'd say that can factor into your planning. Dungeons may not be as efficient, but you still want to run for that roulette bonus, with the additional log bonus for running 3 roulettes, as well as clearing 5 dungeons, as well as voting 5 times. While you're queued up, you can zip around looking for some easy/quick FATEs for those two challenge log entries. Leves eat up a chunk of time and maybe aren't very fun, but if you can find five different easy ones to knock out, a bit of exp (the log for 20 just seems like too much effort). By the late 30s, you might just be able to manage a few of the Grand Company daily hunt bills. And once you start getting up in the 40s, you can get back to the ARR beast tribes.

So, Idunno too much about PotD efficiency, but I'd wager maybe it's only the best option once you've exhausted your dailies/weeklies.

Of course, one of the bigger reasons PotD gets recommended so much is more likely gear. And maybe a little bit also travel time. You can do all that other stuff, but it still takes time getting around, and you need to put a little more time/effort into keeping gear up to date, compared to just grinding away at the deep dungeon.

To be honest... I personally just did Squadron's for leveling DPS to 50.

Was like half a level per dungeon run (Could be more if using exp boosts like the Squadron consumable from weekly Priority Missions, rested exp etc) and was not too bad and certainly less annoying than PotD.

The only issue is the 32-41 part where all you have is Brayflox's Longstop (No Cutter's Cry...) so it can get a bit repetitive (I must have run Brayflox literally 200+ times or something...)

Also, it can still be worth getting that daily Roulette bonus, especially if you spend the time in the queue doing something productive, such as FATE farming or Beast Tribe quests.

Just saw the same thread on gamefaqs lol

I usually just keep spamming potd for every class until 50, then do roulettes daily, which for the most part, is enough to get a class to 70 in a week.
