SO question.. why does everyone hate the Dragoon job, why is it so ostracized?

It is not ostracized. It has the most complex rotations (plural) in the game.
But a lot of the ribbing, NOT hate, dates back to FFXI.
As to the TC's question, BRD offers the most synergy but SMN enhances the BLM's damage a bunch. Really, the job you are most comfortable playing will be the best.
Tried Samurai the last few days and it's entertaining but that melee dance is rough and open world is not quite as easy as Summoner. But I do like it in a group, I can pull tremendous numbers.. I keep bobbing back and forth from Bard to Summoner to Samurai now.. To me if feels like you got Bard on the one end with more utility and mediocre DPS, and Samurai at the other end with pure DPS and nothing else.. while Summoner is somewhere in the middle with some Utility and more DPS than Bard but less than Samurai.. Of the 3 I think Summoner handles itself better in open world when not in my group and the other 2 as well.. so many choices!! How does Summoner enhance BLM btw?
Actually pondering my RDM as well.. feels alot like Summoner with alot less pet management,.. and I have to admit.. I do like the style lol
I have now started playing Red Mage, and I'm really liking it so far. It's easy and fun. I think I'll like it even more when I get the heal and raise spells.
She's got a chicken to ri-ide, she's got a chicken to ri-i-ide...
She's got a chicken to ride, this game's from Square!
