Data Center Redistribution for Crystal (Two Weeks without being able to log in?)

So, I have a few questions regarding the Crystal data center changes. According to the images provided to us it states that "Redistribution is scheduled to be carried out over a two week period." Going by this statement and past data center redistribution's such as Chaos data center, which was down for three or five days, does this mean the worlds being moved will be inaccessible for this two week period?

If so, this could seriously impact their populations as the transfer incentives open up during this time frame. I could see many people transferring off the worlds while they are down for relocation.

Can anyone clarify? Images provided.

Additionally, during the Chaos move they reimbursed players for their subscription time lost which makes me believe it will be down for two weeks.

Subscription Period Extensions
In order to compensate players inconvenienced by this extended maintenance, those who meet the following requirements will have their subscriptions extended by the number of days required for maintenance:

This probably means the servers will be shut down for maintenance several times in a two week period. How long each shut down will be? Your guess is as good as mine.

Remember, worlds on Chaos were shut down for five days and had subscriptions reimbursed.

Remember, the Chaos servers were moved... from Montreal to Germany. It takes a while to copy as much data as is needed for all of the characters on a datacenter halfway across the world.

They are moving them only from one rack to another (or just adding a new duty finder server to the existing rack and thats all). This should be able to be done either logically (aka they just update the logical addresses and maybe change some cabling and networking in the logical datacenter), or can be done in one maint over 24 hours. (if there is new hardware)

In this situation you're removing individual servers from the data center cluster and making an entirely new one. Chaos was already made and just needed to be moved. You are misreading it. It takes more than 24 hours to transfer data across the world. I wasn't talking about physical servers. Thats why Chaos took so long. They also had to do final checks on the servers, make sure the data was transferred without corruption.

It would take longer to move data that far, than to just split the datacenters logically. Thats all they are doing. Changing which lobby and duty finder server they get pointed at.

Proximity makes a huge difference when transferring large amounts of data. You can use 10gig, 40gig, or 100gig within a datacenter itself. Over the atlantic, I'd be shocked if they got anywhere close to 1gig.

A more concerning thought for me is which servers are going to be affected by the loss of housing? Servers marked in green text? Servers marked in black text? Servers that are going to the Crystal DC? I'll be fairly pissed off if I'm indeed losing my house over this.

Servers will remain intact. They are just being reshuffled. If someone is planning to stay on their server then they have nothing to worry about. No one is going to lose their house by staying. If they are transferring off of their server then they will be fully reimbursed for their plot.
