    I actually enjoyed the gathering idea in Diadem, it just wasn't put in right. When they announced it they kinda made it sound like you'd have your battle classes clear the area and then you're free to gather. What it actually was instead was dying to mobs every 5 nodes because it was too slow to kill them and they just respawned anyways.

    The fishing was ok if you found a good safe spot

    id rather them use the eureka open instance because it lessens the chance of individual servers being dead, but thats because id want massive heavily interconnected maze maps reminiscent of classic ff, imagine having to fend off an infiltrating garlean force in the city proper of ala mhigo, or moving through the wine cellars and catacombs of lea monde (if it was a full story arc like eurekas you could also have the snowfly forest, the city, the grand cathedral, and the public dungeon of iron maiden) to shut down a series of voidgates aided by ancient kiltean grimoires

    That's not it. I just think that its funny that even the most casual mention of XI generates seething hatred from ppl on here when they add so much from other games. Even a mere mention of adding the smallest most minute thing from XI is met with such contempt and fits of outrage. It's an ongoing theme of many threads whenever XI is mentioned and I find it hilarious.

    I don't get why people say FFXIV is turning into FFXI, when baldesion arsenal is nothing like what FFXI used to be. It s FFXIV with a little bit of FFXI fan service (mobs models and abilities, gear) and battle royale mechanics (raising limitations).

    No entry systems in FFXI's instances were as tedious as what we have for baldesion.

    Also, Baldesion isn't a public dungeon. It's an instance within an instance with an incredibly weird entry system.

    I'm not a fan of public dungeons. I like the convenience of being able to que for dungeons without having to sit in a zone and ask for people for help. Make Instance dungeons longer, have random paths you get thrown into each time, more bosses, w/e. Just keep them instanced and let us que into them after meeting the requirements. The Baldesian Arsenal just sounds like a pain to get into and even more of one if you want to farm it. One of those "not worth the trouble" situations.

    I am on with public dungeon but when it is really a public dungeon. The problem of BA right now, it is not. Public dungeon = every people can go in if they like and go out if they like. Example of this is emergency mission of diadem which practically all people in the instance can join. For BA, I think SE need to make 3 BA instance in every hydatos. 1 BA instance will max 48 people. Remove the support NM requirements (just make it ordinary NM). In addition chain the AV "super buff" to room mechanic only.

    I want to be honest concerning the support fate.
    When I had read the explanations, I had completely misunderstood what it was really.
    In fact, I though people from BA would travel to the portal, then go on a mirror projection of Hydatos where they would do the "support fate" (so 48 players max).
    So in first place, they would be like "what, we return to Hydatos but there is nobody else ?".
    Then the fate would have spawned within 3-4 min.
    They would do it, and then after defeating it, they could take the special portail who would bring them back inside BA.

    In this way, we would avoid the actual problem of support fate (even if the idea of cooperation between people inside BA and outside is not that bad).

    I actually do enjoy the Baldesion Arsenal once you actually get inside. I like this style of content with large numbers of people all need to coordinate together. It reminds me of the old days of 40-man WoW raids or FFXI dynamis runs. Those things were fun to do.

    Just need to remove the tediousness of actually entering the place and it will be good content I think. Just make it so you can form large alliance party outside of the instance and then queue into the content as a full team like you do for every other content in the game.

    I don't think this content should be in the Duty Finder however. Getting this many random people who may be at varying stages of experience is bound to fail. Pre-made party finder groups only is the way to go. Maybe give a less strict entry requirement however where if you don't have 56 people you can still enter, and use duty finder once inside to replace people (similar to how PvP works).

    Also for this type of large scale content with a lot of people you need a better UI to control the raid members and party leaders. 40-man WoW raid UI was really good at this. One person was designated the raid leader, and they had a UI where they could see all party members and party leaders, and easily drag and drop people into different groups as needed. So for example if one group didn't have a healer, but another group had 3 healers, the raid leader could easily move people to balance out the groups.

    So TLDR, I like the idea of large scale difficult PVE content, but if it's going to continue going forward, we need better quality of life tools to support this type of content.
