Rework Bluemage!

no thanks its a blast to play and have something to keep me busy til 5.0. dont just want another same ol same ol dps that the only difference in combat is the skill effects

I don't know why people think that changing BLU into something that isn't Limited means turning it into a carbon copy of BLM or some such.

Also, I'm curious as to where the thought process behind BLU currently being any different stems from, given that a large portion of playing BLU is just spamming a 130 Potency ability onto a target with Off-Guard on them and then pressing Primal oGCD abilities during Peculiar Light burst phases. You know, exactly like "Same ol', same ol' DPS" classes.

Especially when you consider that outside of level 1-49 cheese with 1000 Needles spam and the few notable targets that are actually susceptible to insta-kill effects so can be hit by Doom/Tail Screw/Missile that the only other things that BLU can do is have a slightly more interesting time against trash by comboing stuff like The Ram's Voice > The Dragon's Voice a few times until diminishing returns gives CC immunities. Which is something that could in fact become a core gameplay feature against all targets rather than a limited bit of cheese against irrelevant enemies and is barely notable outside this specific combo (Due to other combo's being either not worth the use such as Aqua Breath > High Voltage which just matches the damage of spamming Glower... Or the combo is really limited such as Level 5 Petrify > Drill Cannon because the CC is based on specific levels...)

The problem with Blue Mage is that it doesn't have the skills necessary to fulfill a standard tank or healer role. You would need to greatly expand on the BLU skills before you can do that.

Even in other titles, Blue Mage was as much of a healer as Red Mage was. It could fulfill the need in a pinch, but a dedicated healer does the job better.

And BLU here is less durable than other titles and it doesn't need to be hit in order to learn skills.
