They better make Blu more powerful to handle these, doubtful, but Blu needs a power boost HW content starts ramping things up slowly some having harsher enrages than anything in ARR so Blu cannot afford to be underperforming in its role going forward.

They're also likely to put mobs into the open world as another method to acquire some spells. And don't forget the Carnival. The learning bug that was recently patched pretty much confirmed that you can learn Condensed Libra (or Triple Hit?) and Magic Hammer from the Arena Scribe and Epilogi fights. Maybe they'll add more stages with Alexander abilities like the way you could learn High Voltage from one of the Carnival fights.

Here hoping for that, more ways to learn on your own if skilled at Blu is better than so many forced dfs especially for late comers, Azulmagia should've used the primal skills seen in the cutscene in its fight, but these should have a lower learn rate than getting it from the trials/duties they are from incentivise group play but don't lock it behind group play etc

Crazy very unlikely theory, 5.15 is a "beta" for an omni role Blu, the skills we learn will more clearly define a "Tank" Blu, "Healer" Blue ect through stance skills and more skills specialised to those roles, by doing this they get data on how the Job performs at these roles in sync'd teams in a "safe" environment where the dont effect other roles and game balanc, so they can be further tweaked by the time theyre up to 70, then in 6.0 they role out at 70 starting level, with the ability to do multiple roles depending on which spec you pick.

Or I'm just mad and desperate but oh well speculating is fun

Killing myself so I can ask FC members for a raise to be annoying is all I use Blue Mage for these days.

At work at the minute so posting from my phone, but an idea I had to tack a job gauge onto blue mage would be something that fills as the player casts damaging blue magic. When full the gauge would allow the use of a new action called azure more. It'd buff damage by 10% for 15 seconds or something like that. Make it level 54. Levels 56 and 58 would add chain affinity and burst affinity respectively. Chain affinity would allow physical blue magic of matching elemental types to create skillchains for bonus damage. Burst affinity would allow the next magical blue magic spell to magic burst off of said skillchain. I'm not sure what would be fitting for a level 60 skill, but it's just a basic not really fleshed out idea I had that would give blue mage more depth than "lolglower spam" and kinda prepare it to transition to a full df ready job.

Have people found all the new overworld mobs yet?

Currently looking and found the Albathian Wimora in Sea of Clouds which only casts Poison Dust so we are getting a new DoT

Edit: Found Cloud Wyvern in Churning mists casts Reflux which is damage + heavy

Abalathian Wamoura uses Exuviation (AoE heal) when near an enemy with low HP. That could be why the tooltip for that skill has that green color and not a purple one if it were Poison Dust. Pretty sneaky, SE.

damn that is sneaky XD so it was probably a way to try and slow down learning since pulling 2 lv 57 mobs in caster gear solo is a little risky (especially with Blu's current power level)

Hm... Do we need another AoE heal, tho? White Wind pretty much covers that. Still, if it's fixed potency and is cheaper it might be better in some situations, like for example after Stack Marker, when everyone is low on HP. So going this -> White Wind might be better.

Given that we are expected to go into HW sync'd content some are Alexander raids, 24 mans and extreme primals, Blu was sorely needing a cheaper aoe heal, a potent single target heal, esuna(Doomgaze etc) and a raise to fulfil the healer role, i would say this is welcome.

It also needs a way to dump and generate aggro and a cheaper less potent cd for tank role.

Also needs a significant Dps boost due to enrages in some of these fights are tighter than ARR content.
