marketboard overhaul and clean sweep needed!

i may get people who agree or disagree with this post but this had to finally be wrote and hopefully despite the few people who will reply most likey i dont expect will get ffxiv's attention! anyway i'll jump into it

i been a on final fantasy close to 3 years and almost 3 months and even then since that june day in 2015 i noticed how the market board had 3 separate groups of sellers and very few of a 3rd groups 1st the price gouger>people who charge rediculous amounts for items to either get rich fast or because they can and know some with money like its going out of style will buy these items.2.undercutters>these people are the worst out of the two poisons to the market board items and everyone elses pockets as these are people who do not care so much so they will lower it till its not worth it to you then when you take yours down they then re-raise the amount and 3rd the good hearted sympathetic people who just put on a item for a fair market value yet while making a profit. this leads me into the whole market prohibited issue, everything these days seems to say ''market prohibited'' yet items that are ''market prohibited'' to people like you and me is still being sold on the market board when any item is marked market prohibited all the same items currently on the market board should have been marked market prohibited and automaticly sent to the player inventory or retainer or housing merchant for pick up! but the current state of the market board is hideous to put it mildy as the reasons are why money is hard to make unless your a top notch crafter or you live in dungeons seeking high sought after items.average daily playersy will make money but at a snails pace.you can reply positive or negative but facts are facts the truth is hard to hear this issue affects all of us one way or another. to everyone who reads this ty for your feedback but we need to bring enough attention to this where ffxiv developers can't ignore it.like it or not this affects you as well not some of us but all of us! as long as we dont speak up our market board more and more will be for 1 of 2 groups price gougers\undercutters PERIOD!!!!

Market prohibited versions of items generally came from the Mogstation, while the normal versions came from gameplay. I see no reason to punish people for selling things they obtained via gameplay just because you whipped out your credit card to get the same items. Be grateful SE gave you the opportunity to get items you otherwise would have been unable to obtain or would have had to wait too long to obtain (as evidenced by your willingness to purchase them).

As for the MB, it's fine as it is, or at least the way people use it is not one of its problems. The fundamental environment of the game is pretty conducive to laissez faire capitalism without creating extreme and inherent unfairness. Everyone has equal access to both raw materials and the means of production if they simply choose to invest the time and effort into those things. Additionally, there is nothing on the MB that, should you be unable to purchase it from the MB, would be egregiously damaging to you. Some people have more time or more skill, which can create further stratification, but that's fine in a video game and stratification not only occurs in every aspect of the game, but is also generally desirable within reason. I understand that some people will not tolerate any barrier between them and what they want in a game, much less one that involves gameplay aspects they don't enjoy, but the economy adds depth to the game and is an enjoyable aspect for many of us. Ruining that just because you think your personal feelings should get to dictate what's a "fair" market value would be unwise on SE's part. Rest assured, everyone has such feelings about what is and isn't "fair," and yours probably do not agree with theirs.

If you just want to slowly accumulate gil in this game with a crafting class, try to find a niche for yourself with your server's economy. Back in ARR I only had GSM leveled to 50, and I did it in a very expensive and inefficient way because I was new and my idea of how crafting was leveled came from WoW where you just spam synthed stuff. I still went from rarely having more than 200k to ending the expansion with a few million gil simply by identifying something I could sell on my realm with what I had available to me: sanguine scepters for the BLM relic weapon. They didn't need to be HQ, could be reliably crafted with my poor gear and no cross-class abilities, and sold for a decent amount. Though I've been unsubbed about 50% of the time since I started playing and don't always focus on gil making when I am playing, I've obtained well over 100 mil at this point and kind of just buy whatever I feel like when I feel like it. With some more time and effort invested, it's likely I'd have several hundred million gil. There's no real trick to getting rich in this game. Like anything else, it's just about putting in the time and effort to get good at that aspect of the game.

As a non producing crafter. I have no issue with the way the market board is now. I don't make money as fast as the crafters and I don't expect to. The put in tons of time and work harvesting and crafting to make that money booyah for them. People are people they will undercut, they will price gouge. Thats the way free enterprise works, they would not make any money price gouging if people were not willing to pay it. You can learn to profit from it or complain but there is no reason to change the way it currently is.

I feel like I can recategorize the 3 groups of the OP
    1. People who charge a ton (often there is no competition, so they are just listing a price)
    2. People who want to sell their stuff without waiting (most stuff will sell eventually, but if you dont want to wait a month or 2, you need to be at the low end of the price scale)
    3. People who screw themselves by having bad deals up (what the OP always wants to see so everything is cheaper for consumers). Many of these are actually in category 2, but since the OP is buying at this point, undercutters are welcome.

The thing about FFXIV is that if you don't like the prices, its not hard to go get/make it yourself.
