    Eureka?

So everyone is pretty talkative about this suddenly. I myself only played it once to get enough item level to play the final Stormblood dungeon. Anyway, I liked it, but as a “Do it when you have nothing else to do, or are bored” kinda thing. I mean, it’s fun because it’s like a dungeon where you can meet random people and form bonds and stuff. Plus it is fun to join up, then watch how people come and go to fit their needs and desires. I for one like the dungeon, but don’t understand why there’s a time limit. Anyway, just wanted to say I enjoy the dungeon as an optional thing. Others are acting like it’s mandatory.

Obviously it's not "mandatory" in terms of being able to make progress in other parts on the game, but it's not self-contained and fully optional either.

A lot of people are after the "relic weapons" that require Eureka completion and a lot of grinding in there.

I'm more interested in the game's story and lore, and Eureka isn't self-contained but answers a hanging question from the MSQ - the fate of the Isle of Val, first talked about back in 2.X. If I want a full understanding of what happened, Eureka doesn't feel optional any more.
