Come on, with all the content of this game. If Baldesion did not have Ozma's saddle nobody would be doing it. Do you think that people enjoy making roulettes? They simply make them by the daily bonus. It wont get more Fun. Eureka is a ressource eating piece of nonsense where the devs have to lock emotes/Relics/Mounts behind it to get people to actually do it. The sad thing is: they actually believe people like it... they dont realise that people only do it because of the Stuff thats locked behind it.
If raids didn't have rewards, nobody would be doing it. If dungeons didn't have rewards nobody would be doing them.
Finished my Eureka Knives yesterday, so I decided to go back and upgrade my bow for something to do. Spent several hours doing NMs and Anubises in Pagos today. 11/31 Frosted Protean Crystals obtained.
Pagos and its light grind are still absolutely abysmal. There is nothing fun about light grinding, especially when it's highly ENG based, and I hope that SE eventually realizes this. I remember enjoying Pyros more than Pagos because the light grind was at least a little more lenient and there was more to focus on, but Pagos is still one of the worst experiences in the game.
I like Hydatos, however. I wish I could just do all of the light-grinding in Hydatos, if I have to do it at all. Ovni is frequent enough to keep things interesting.
Well, the whole point of "farming" is to running after something... You can't farm fun so whats yout point ? People do just for the reward ? Some sure do but... There so many people speedrunning games for the sake of it, beating hard game with as much handicap as possible for no reward... If its fun people will do it, its a game, nobody get any reward for playing it to begin with, if its fun it don't need that much different reward hidden under so much RNG... Make it fun first and then give player a treat for doing it.

Reward systems themselves are game mechanics. The idea that "content must be fun without reward" goes against many game design principles. Gambling relies entirely on that idea, are you saying that poker or roulette is poorly designed because its not fun without reward?

Yeah and gambling is such a good exemple that it need regulation to even be legal. What I'm saying is if the content is fun, appealing and people have a blast doing it once the reward aquired they may be willign to do it again for the fun of it. Content shouldn't depend only on its reward to stay alive past the first completion. Eureka should have a reward in the end but hidding what should have been reward under abyssimal RNG layer just make it worst and less attractive.

A lot of people play both without any real reward. The mechanics are inherently fun. Similar to how some people like joining clear parties with no reward, do speed runs, etc. Etc. If the content is fun you will revisit just for the sake of it.Reward systems themselves are game mechanics. I also agree rewards are a game mechanic and that farming type content is perfectly valid. But it’s also valid that a huge part of the community didn’t mind the farming of previous relics but absolutely loath eureka. It’s also valid that given the wide spread complaints and disregard for the content (I would say only 5-10% of the people I know in game have bothered with eureka past pagos) it should be understood that this content was not well received (NA at least).
Considering they plan on making a 5.0 eureka I understand people are losing their shit.
