Game stuck on black screen after launch

Hello, I recently moved computers and copied over the game folder and settings folders from the old computer. It worked fine on the old system and it wasn't really an upgrade (though it was a move from Win 10 Home to Win 10 Enterprise). Now the game won't launch after pressing play on the launcher. The game window comes up and I see the logos for Square-Enix, etc., but then it stops, no cinemetic, no main menu. Eventually, when I go to close the window the in-game dialogue box comes up to ask if I really want to exit. I should mention that it's a macbook pro running boot camp, but that's never been a problem before.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

I should mention that the game isn't officially supported with bootcamp, unfortunately. As such, we may be limited in what support we can offer.

It looks like the graphics drivers are from 2017. Try updating them to the most recent version.

If this is a new PC, you may want to update Windows as well. Check for any Optional or Recommended updates that may not have been installed during the automatic update process.

You can also try a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. This will make sure that no background processes are interfering with the game.

Thank you for your help, I understand that boot camp may not be fully supported. I've been playing on boot camp for 3 years, however, so it *should* work. My guess is that something is wrong with the media player side of things. It seems like it goes to play the intro cinematic, fails and just hangs there. It's not completely frozen, because the in-game dialogue box pops up when I go to close the window. The drivers are as updated as they can be and it's a clean installation of Windows 10, also fully updated. When I first tried to launch the game, I had to fiddle with the preferences a lot to get it to launch at all, particularly, setting both the directx 9 and 11 versions to run as administrator. Are there other files I should look at? Perhaps the "movie" files also need their permissions updated? I've uninstalled and re-installed through Steam several times now so they should be new files as well. Perhaps a registry entry I should delete or modify?
