    Looking for free advice on RDM lvl 70 gear

    Good afternoon,

    Have rdm at lvl 70 with ilvl 390 gear blue but have not been able to reach a good damage amount per raid or dungeon lvl 70 perhaps due to bad materia VI distribution, yep do normal dps rotation.

    Can someone please share the best materia VI formula to increase my char dps on dungeon/raid lvl 70?

    Players go in the end of dungeon/raid see my character dmg is lowest but they do not tell me in respect and ty is kind, but know in advance is low and want to make it better.

    Materia matters, but your opener and rotation may be off and that's what is ultimately undermining you.

    I personally use this opener, moving Displacement to after Verflare or Verholy. Using double Scatter for 4+ targets and Scatter to alternating white or black spells at 3 targets. Wait for 9x/9x for 3+ targets, popping Embolden, Enchanted Moulinet once, Manafication, Enchanted Moulinet three more times.

    If you were doing savage raids, would suggest lining up Embolden for trick and raid bursts, but outside of it, there's no real reason to do this and can use Embolden for personal/greedy DPS increases.

    Great advise from JunseiKei. Depending on the fight i could usually fit 2 finishers (verflare or holy) under 1 embolden, i usually use those for boss fights or when it is absolutely needed.
    Thankfully materia has gone down in prices or you can trade in items for free materia.
    Currently i sit at 2646 Crit, 1249 Determination and 1630 Direct Hit. Matter of preference but i also find it best to have at least 600 Spell Speed even though that is the least valuable stat on RM.

    A good thing to understand with RDM is that when you don't do anything, you don't do damage at all. You don't have a pet nor DoTs nor auto-attack. So you must be constantly casting spells on every available GCD. If you regularly delay your next GCD for any reason, you end up with a huge loss of uptime in the end of a fight. (Of course this is true for any class!)

    So chase your weaknesses:
    are you constantly casting?
    are you efficiently managing your procs? thus are you avoiding to use Jolt II as much as possible?
    do you use your melee combo as soon as you have 80/80 mana and make sure your don't overcharge your mana (sit at 100/100 and still cast spells)?
    do you make sure to never let any proc (VerFire VerStone and Impact) fall off ?
    do you use your offensive oGCDs (namely Flèche and Contre de Sixte, then Corp à Corps and Displacement) as soon as they are up ?
    do you use Acceleration efficiently ?

    Red Mage is a simple job in terms of rotation, but there is a huge difference between average playing and optimized playing. (that latter statement is true for every job too of course)

    That should be about it
