I get not going back and adding swimming animations to all the preexisting mounts, but you'd think they'd build all the new SB mounts that way from the start.

Maybe they'll get around to it if ShB and beyond continues to have Diving as a mechanic. As more underwater content would mean that things like this would be more relevant.
