    PC Controller Hiccup

This happens with both my Steam Controller and a usb wired 360 controller. I prefer to play FFXIV w / controller as I learned the game on PS3 and that's how I feel comfortable playing the game.

    PC Specs:
    i7-8700k
    EVGA GTX 1080 FTW2
    32GB RAM DDR4 (3000)
ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC)
    Windows 10 64-bit

I'll be moving in a direction then I let go of the analog stick or try to change directions and my character will still be moving for a second or two in the same direction.

Or I will try to press the triggers and it will not register that I pressed it for a second or two OR when I let go to use a different skill in a different way the cross bar still thinks it's being held down

It's intermittent, but it happens often enough that it's getting me unnecessarily hurt or killed in combat, walking me off ledges, disrupting my combos, and making the jumping puzzles downright impossible.

It does not happen in ANY other game, so I think I can say with certainty it's not my computer. And I've tried calibrating the controller, and while that gives me a temporary fix within a few minutes the problem will come back. Any and all help would be appreciated.

    Things to try:
    • Plug into another USB port
    • Recalibrate controller
    • Reset computer

I have the same issue, though i assumed it was due to using a Bluetooth PS4 Controller. DS4 Windows does seem to help, though it can also cause it to completely crash.

    Hello.

Ever since Square fussed with the controller implementation on PC a ways back this has been an issue for a lot of people with a large variety of controllers. As far as I can tell from research, the only fix is to disable "Microsoft Device Association Root Enumerator" under "Software Devices" in your Device Manager.

This takes care of the issue for most people, myself included. Although for me it sometimes causes the game to hang upon launch until the PC is rebooted or the software device is re-toggled. Unsure if this is just a me thing but it's a minor concern at best either way.

    Hope this helps.
