    ...except dated gear tends to be more complicated to make. One would expect it to generally be more expensive as a result, is this not the case?

    There is still a lot of dated gear available, especially for lower level stuff. In some cases, there are none of the newer gears available in certain level ranges, so you either have to use new gear far below your level, or a piece of dated gear.

    Not from what I've noticed, people are using up dated recipes and ingredients and selling at a low price before its worthless and is got rid of.
