I hate Ghimlyt for this reason. In a stationary situation X button does prioritize objects and NPCs. Problem is, it prioritizes them in a dungeon too. And unfortunately due to certain ARR and HW dungeons where you actually need to heal an NPC, I don't have it filtered out. There's also a setting you can adjust that auto targets either whats visually closest or...what you're facing or something like that. Rule of thumb tho: up and down on the D-pad cycles thru your party. Left and right cycles thru enemies on the field (and if you don't have it turned off, NPC player characters too I believe). Targeting there isnt too horrible but in a large pull it can be hard to target when you're going for the meatiest or most central ad for DoT spreading and such.

Not sure why the whole blocking pathways or NPCs has always been listed as against the rules in this game when it is quite literally impossible for anyone to block anyone’s access through any pathway or to an NPC. There is always a way to target and interact with any npc regardless of how many people are clustered on or around it, and no one can physically block a path because characters don’t collide with each other, we just walk right through. Like why bother making stipulations in the rules for things that cannot actually happen given the way the game is designed?

People can't physically block you from entering/leaving a location, sure, but they can make progress harder or troll certain situations by doing things like standing on top of summoning bells or standing right in an area you have to interact with to trigger a cutscene or instance and refusing to move, or by standing inside a quest NPC. I see people doing this all the time, especially during seasonal events. Basically they're putting into the rules that they don't approve of this behavior.
