Hello fellow FFXIV players.

I am trying to offer advice to help players have an enjoyable experience.

The original post seemed to not be so helpful as it initially did not include gamepad users.

Keyboard Users:



Playstation (Trademark) Users:
(with nothing selected/no current target)



XboX/Microsoft (trademark) Users:
(with nothing selected/no current target)



To target Aetherytes, NPC's, summoning bells you name it, you can use these buttons.

This completely ignores all player characters and lets you target such targets easily and instantly.



I would like to offer up many players help/advice in regards to targeting.

I have seen not only in the new "prohibited behavior policy" that it states:

"overlapping an important NPC deliberately for a long time."

Or players asking that NPC be placed "on a pedestal" or being unable to click on summoning bells.

I hope many many players read this thread to know, often times when there is similar issues in gameplay, that the FFXIV development already has something in place to help completely dissolve such issues.

From the HUD customization, to the Gamepad-hotbar and regular hotbar customization, duty finder settings, party finder settings, the list goes on.

Instead of reporting a player who is standing on top of a summoning bell, or quest NPC please just press F12.

It is also helpful, and might be imperative moving forward as a forum community to help avoid needless bans, that we ask questions of fellow players for gameplay or settings advice that already exist which can help us avoid requesting things from the development team.
