    Oh really... someone posted the numbers in the previous post. How about you get your facts straight before accusing someone of having a lazy argument. I'd also like to know how many of those heavensward relics include the uber nerfed process for getting them as well. Oddly the developers have said that this relic was a lot more popular than they expected and those numbers seem to verify that.

    I disagree from my perspective: each relic has it's worse step this is based on their respective releases
    ARR: Atma/Animus - took 10 days of 8 hours each day to get a non upgraded stats weapon(Yes its bad rng but the fact that happened soured a lot once i was done) then you had 9 books requiring 900 mobs, 27 leves which are not always there when you go to start so you had to do others to try and get them, 27 fates with ridiculously low spawn rates had to wait 7 hours for 1 at one point and 27 dungeons easy part all that to finally get the stats that the atma should've given
    HW: unidentifiables step which required to know at least 3 specialist crafters with only 1 overlap on specialist or have loads of gil, you had to do ARR beast tribes quests only the top tier quests gave the item needed to trade for the unidentifiable item and you needed 3 per trade so 20 days if just beast tribes or you had to spam Alexander Gordias normal each floor for 10x per item so 200x each floor max or spend 400 tomestones per item so needing 32000 tomestones or get lucky with maps and do hunts for allied seals, yes you can mix up each way to do it but all were very time consuming and it was still mandatory to either know crafters or have a decent amount of gil
    Eureka: Pagos took 3 straight days of mob grinding to reach cap and i was 100 Pagos crystals short and 9 light crystals and 1 Louhi kill off from finishing that step took 1 more day after that. This was absolutely boring not as bad as atma/animus but up there but by far the easiest relic to get done on their respective releases.

    All these steps were bad for their relics ARR and Eureka ones bored me to no end while the HW one was the most tedious despite having that many different ways to obtain items.

    TLDR Eureka relic isn't the worse by a long shot its also the easiest to obtain but i did get incredibly boring during parts of it if the devs took on more of Pyros/Hydatos i will be content with the relic being behind this type of content rather than the absurd questlines of ARR/HW but Eureka might be impossible to go back to next expansion for a relic

    People forget the old relics are still doable and people keep doing them today. Eureka will die in 5.0 and no one will ever touch it again (not even Eureka lovers).

    I really, really, REALLY dislike the RNG nature of the stats in the 4.0 relic.

    It speaks to lazy design that doesn't respect the player's time.

    Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
    Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
    Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

    This I wholeheartidly agree with we hated it when doing conversions for materia in ARR we hated it when we had to get dungeon drops we most certainly hate it to make the weapon usuable

    I feel like all they might really need to do to make sure people can still do Eureka post SB is just to remove the sync on the zones. Eureka has kept us synced at what, ilvl 300 the whole time to emphasize the elemental level system, but what happens if you let in level 80 players with ivl 500 gear? Or wherever gear ends up at at 5.0 endgame. Sprinkle in some nerfs to make NMs easier to spawn or a blanket nerf to all the enemies and grinding out Eureka in the future shouldn't be too bad.

    I can at least tell you that I will come back long after its dead.

    Why? Easy ... Bunny fates and warped boxes.

    There's glam and mounts and hair locked in them there instances! I can get tons of grade 5/6 from the locked boxes. Just selling the 5s to vender has made me over a mil gil. And since the bunny fate scales with the amount of players in an instance you can solo them.
    I soloed at least 4 in an empty pyros instance as a non level cap war with no logos. Plus elemental +2 gear will make soloing warped box mobs easy so you can farm that alone and get the minions and emotes.

    At this point getting the beefed up gear is an investment in the future where I can have the whole instance as my profit playground. The only thing I feel like there's a time limit on is crystals. Idk how easily you can solo a nm fate with fully element gear but even in a instance by myself I had to nope out of the one I tried after 2 hits.

    But yeah ... I'm saving some of the cool drops I've had for the future. A few months to a year into 5.0 in sure many eureka locked items will be hard to come by on the cheap.

    They can easily remove the elemental level and ilvl sync. And ta da! you can solo everything lol. As for selling V materias, I suggest going to Mutamix and use them lol. If you get gathering or crafting Vs (and sometimes if you're lucky you get VIs) then those sell for higher price in MB. I got tons of millions just selling gathering V and VIs (I even Mutamix useless VIs for bigger chance of gathering and crafting VIs).

    Yes but i don't think its lazy design its like this on purpose to keep at least pyros longer alive. If you could choose your stats most people wouldn't set foot in there after they are done.
