Need some Tech help - Low fps

Hey, I just returned to the game and I don't remember the FPS being this bad.

    GTX 1080 - newest Driver.
    I7 - 6700 -4.0Ghz
    32 Ram
    Windows 10

FPS stuck at 50-60, slightly lower in the recordings because of the recording method.
Fps doesn't change regardless of how I adjust the settings.
Even rebooted the client after going from max to lowest and didn't have a FPS difference.
And only 10 FPS difference going from DirectX11 to 9

    DirectX 11:

    DirectX 9:

Task manager performance on DirectX 11 Maximum settings, unlimited FPS: https://puu.sh/CK0wD/1328287593.mp4

    Nvidia control panel settings: https://puu.sh/CK0yq/8877784446.mp4
Say if you see any oddities, it has been altered a few times in a past for the benefit of other games.

    Things that I've tried:
Nvidia experience; using "optimize" through that.
Nvidia control panel> PhysX> forcing it to use the GPU on PhysX at all times.
Disabling Windows 10 Game mode option.

And that's about as much self-help I could get out of googling "FF14 low fps" "FF14 fps issues".

I know that in the HW expansion I was playing around with settings as well because I bought a 120hz Monitor and back then I could hit 120 steady FPS EASILY.
So now I'm turning to the forums. will also post this in tech help section.

Did you change the FPS in the settings? It should give an option for like 30,60 or unlocked. Did u try Unlocked?

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

You mentioned you are a returning player, when was the last time you played? Has there been any significant changes to your PC since then?

When you installed the newest driver, did you do a clean install of them?

You may also want to try a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. When you play the game, make sure to disable any overlays (including Geforce Experience).

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

Set GPU to High Performance and make sure to run game in fullscreen not borderless or windowed! make sure fps cap is not 1/2 etc no way you should have that fps! I had a 6700K and 1080 played HW and had about 90+ fps..

I have now a 9700k and 1080 ti get about 95 fps in limsa at 1440p.
