Empirical or not, Atoli is pretty much right in that the numbers from XIVpads only represent a fraction of the whole player base. Even with MMOs, only a small part of players actually visit forums or other community sites, and an even smaller part actually participate in what these sites have to offer. But it doesn't really matter either, since the data from XIVpads should be a large enough sample to see a tendency.
About 16% of all the people who are moving to another server choose Ragnarok, so only 6% above the average. By far not enough to outweigh the fact that Ragnarok starts with a population of zero, while the others start with the large amount of players who choose not to switch servers manually. Of course there are still a hundred other factors to consider, like the fact that XIVpads is a mainly english website and probably less popular with german and french players, who in turn most probably make out a big chuck of Ragnarok's future population. Still, I think it's safe to assume that Ragnarok will end up with a comparatively low number of players.
That being said, I don't see a need to argue about this. SE apparently thinks it might work out, and they're the ones with all the numbers. If it doesn't, they'll provide everyone with a chance to transfer to another server. No harm done either way.
Do you know why you don't see a need to argue? Because there was never a need for it. I was simply curious - I forget sometimes being curious is grounds for being arsey with certain people. I am interested in seeing the numbers for future references.

Completely true, the idea is just to give a figure, not much I can do if people refuse to use the site (but want to bitch about the numbers lol)Empirical or not, Atoli is pretty much right in that the numbers from XIVpads only represent a fraction of the whole player base. Also you might be surprised that Germany and France are very high in the visitors, much higher than say UK. We do even have language support for them (Even Chinese XD)
On Google Analytics while US hit a nice 19k/month, France is on 5k/month and Germany on 4k/month, Uk 2.5k/month (all unique), Japan soaring up lately due to server merge page being pushed around on forums.
Quite a large visitor interest from Non English EU countries, even if they don't wish to sign up =(
Also I put in the tallies for the locations people have selected on their Pads accounts. Which will show that a lot of UK (and other countries) dont plan on going to Rag, tho a lot of French are lol. 50 people so far.
^ thats the only reason i'm moving to ragnarok. If it doesn't work out, SE will give us another shot at transfering to another server anyway. And considering gysahl has no real active EU people on it, it won't be any worse than the current state of the server.
Kweh?
