Good on SE for trying to improve it and include more unwanted behaviour (stalking) on the list.
Bad for leaving so many thing vague and up for interpretations (expressions that are offensive to another person).
A lot of these feel like someone was trying to meet a quota of x amount of bulletpoints.

They don't even have to say it hurt their feelings, just that it's at odds with the opinions they hold. The rules explicitly state that rejecting someone's opinion(hating muffins is mutually exclusive with liking them) is grounds for punishment.

It said unilateral rejection which basically means your not allowed to tell someone they cant have opinion or force yours on them.

Now think about all the things in this game and apart of it that go against these meanings and things people do that go against them.

Is it sinking in yet that some of the outlandish things that are being talked about wont happen. If you honestly think SE would be so balantly beyond the word dumb too ban you for disagreeing with someone, leaving a dungeon cause the run is a fail, or for using the DOTE emote on someone. Then YES you are best off just not talking to anyone in game, not running dungeons not doing anything other then standing around like statue.

It doesnt matter because in today's society stating your opinion is viewed as forcing it on others because literally your actions might not be bad but someone might see it as bad..

A reasonable person is a specific legal term. It's not supposed to run on a single person's concept of what is reasonable - as far as that can be judged by an individual.

(Aulainn's second quote from the TOS probably should have the same "reasonable person" phrasing but perhaps it's assumed when repeated, or something.)

With those warnings staying on your account forever regardless of whether they were fair or not, with no oversight or appeals process.

But if they're only warnings or cautions, there's no requirement that you get a ban next time. And that will only be if you're judged in the wrong - and no, you're not automatically in the wrong if the other person claims to be offended.

Are you starting to see how utterly ridiculous these rules are as they are written? People don't literally think this is how it's going to go. But the rules as they are currently written are just waiting to be abused and just cater to the increasingly pervasive victim mentality of society. And that is a problem.

Just because you can choose to read the rules as "written to allow this kind of abuse" doesn't mean the GMs are actually going to agree when a petty report arrives in their inbox.

Yet again, they are not required to take action against someone just because the reporter claims they were distressed. It is an option that is available and they may choose to use it.

They may also decide that the reporter is wasting their time (their own and the GMs) and that a "reasonable person" should not be distressed by that remark, therefore there is no need to discipline the person who made it.

And again, I would think it's designed so they can apply that in situations where the offence/distress is genuine and reasonable, but the offender insists they had no idea they were doing it - when they either did, or a "reasonable person" should have known it was inappropriate.

The fate of your account has always been and will always be in SE hands. As for the rules they exist protect you from other players bad decisions and them from yours not protect your account from SE. Soon as people realize their freaking out for no reason the better, most players dont even know about the policy change and more then likely wont even notice the difference.
