As has been recently pointed out, SE has given us false information on Mahjong

BUT THEY HAVE FLAT OUT LIED TO THE PLAYERBASE ABOUT RATING LOSS

In first you get 30 points
In second you get 10
In third you LOSE 10
And in fourth you LOSE 30


This was pointed out to me recently on my other Mahjong thread.

I'm 9th Kyu. These point values have remained the same since I was listed as Novice. 9th Kyu is right above novice ranking, so it's not really different at all.

Now, what the bloody hell is going on with SE about this? Give us the values on your official page like you solicited and STOP LYING TO THE PLAYERBASE.

There's a difference between "incorrect information" and "lying". One is simply a fact - is the information true or not? The other requires intentionally misrepresenting the facts.

The page has incorrect information, but accusing them of lying is uncalled for. It's not a good way to state your case. It's going to put them off-side even if it's true that their information is incorrect and needs to be fixed.

Also, while I don't play mahjong, I think I saw someone else asking about it a while ago and the points listed on the website refer to something else, separate to the +30 points.

Or perhaps the information changed, and the page didn't get updated.

If 3rd and 4th lost the same, the bolded wouldn't make sense. I'd dare to guess there was a mistake when coding the point loss, assuming the page is correct. In which case, simply calling the XIV's team attention to it should suffice in getting a fix in the works. If they don't know about the error as it is.

Oh wait, another version of the bug is in Accepted Bugs. Just fill out a bug report to call their attention to it rather than being hysterical over such silliness.
