So what's the issue here? From your description of the situation it sounds like a pull was about to happen but was aborted after the ast dropped the spell. You can't undrop it. What was done was done. As they say, $#!+ happens.

Depends on the fight.
Star -should- be pre-placed on some fights so its cooldown will be up for specific mechanics, and it can act as the first heal on a tank at a specific point early in the fight.
With alliance raids, I'm not surprised he placed it early though. My experience is 0 countdowns and very little waiting to engage, especially on trash. And when there is a countdown, one of the tanks will pull early anyway.
Waiting if you see a star is probably worse than just going at that point.

Tanks job to pull. There was an RDM in Orbornne today that kept pulling the bosses before the tank and he got booted.

If the raid is going smoothly, everyone is focused and the alliance is flowing towards some weak enemies ready to melt them, I can see why healers would prep their spells in anticipation. Then out of the blue all three tanks decide to take a breather for no apparent reason until the star expires and gets the ball rolling again.
It's confusing but not the end of the world, and I find it much different from sprinting ahead of the tank in a dungeon between every boss. You don't fight dungeon trash in the position it has spawned in so it's important that the tank can get initial aggro and drag them along.

Seems like a mistake to be frank. The healer thought the tanks would have pulled by the time it exploded.
You're making a mountain out of a mole hill.

That would have been a /sit from me or I would of left without saying a word because I'm petty. I'd rather just eat the 30 minute penalty then deal with backseat tanks.

My view on healers pulling is that if the healer pulls, they are responsible for what happens. It may be seen as rude by some people, since it kind of forces others to go at your pace. But similarly, if the tank is a slowpoke, they're forcing the group to their pace too.
So if the healer pulls, they are responsible. If they know most of the party will fall in behind them, and they want to go faster, they can selfishly make that call. The ones that wanted to take it easy will silently curse them, and the ones that were just as frustrated that the tank was sitting around doing nothing will silently praise them.
Ultimately, if it's a pug, the de facto leader is the one people follow. By default, it's usually a tank. But it doesn't have to be.

So, for Earthly Star in particular it can be a good idea for the AST to prep it, so it's powered up and ready to go early, but this does mean they need to communicate with the tank and the pull needs to happen in time.
Pulling is tank's job.
You pull it, you tank it (especially in 24 mans raid, when tank might be waiting for everyone to be ready)
People don't know how to take criticism anymore, and bad play is rewarded with with a coddling mentality. Yes, this is a casual game for the most part - that doesn't mean people need to walk on eggshells in fear of getting reported for pointing out things. This whole 'please don't say anything even slightly negative' mentality that we seem to be going towards and the devs seemingly pushing towards it is creating a disturbing trend.

It's easier just to do a 5 second countdown on 24 man raid trash, if the tanks are that slow.
