Ah i see, thx for explanation cant wait to check thatIn Dune there is a whole theme regarding Spice. In Dune, the worms make Spice. And in the first book in the desert, they have spice factories they use to gather it, but the big sand worms come and devour them.
It's also how Spice was in Star Wars; George Lucas got the idea from Dune. Spice is an addictive base drug in both universes.
The worms that use the ability Spice Spray are actually in a later dungeon - 'The Burn'. If you haven't gotten there I won't spoil more!
So, I guess this is a second reference ^^ Sorry for the confusion!
do ppl react ?
well me i met a Raziel Audron in Haukkon's mansion, but he didnt notice that i speak to him about soul reaver, and that the mansion remembered me Vorador's mansion, so i was sad
This is how the garleans will get past the doma barrier wall, With guild navigators!
Probably. Have you seen all the pop culture references this game has made? From hit songs to B-rated movies with cult followings, the references are pretty varied.
*(Laughs)*... I literally smiled while reading your post... and you can tell from my character name that I am a massive Dune fan. The Inama Nushif Dune song for House Atreides (composed entirely in actual Fremen language) has been one of my character's signature songs for almost nine years.Hello
I post a topic about this reference, i wonder if ppl noticed or if they know Dune; I discover this saga very late, so i never wondere if the big worm from desert we see in final fantasy game usually were inspired directly by the saga of Frank Herbert
To the Oasis camp there is an meta event in the camp where worm invade it, and at the end, a mini boss shows up name as Ulhuadshi, which is an anagrame of Shai Hulud, emperor of Sand from Arrakis, we see the same letter in the name but in different order.

Ii think the reference is real, also Dune is a great saga attemporal and frontierless , it is very interesting to see designer give such reference in their game, ref who can not speak to all
tell me your think about it
thank you
And here's a funny little story for you:
You see, during the early access release of ARR back in August 2013, I actually cheered at my screen when I arrived at the Forgotten Oasis and saw that event with the sandworms. Then, I looked closer at the name of the NM (Ulhuadshi) and immediately taught that it was a text bug of the name Shai Hulud!
Due to the fact that I was already so used to sending in minor bug reports I found in the game (since during the 2.0 Alpha test phase), I swiftly placed a GM call and waited at that location until the GM responded. It was then I confirmed that it was... as you already correctly deduced... an anagrame of the name Shai Hulud. Nonetheless, I was so very very happy and gratified that the Devs added this Dune reference to the game... and spent ages discussing with the GM (also telling him to pass on my appreciation to the Dev team.
And then of course there is the Burn which just stunned me stupid with how perfectly the Devs rendered that gigantic sandworm... plus of course, it is the location where we meet a certain major NPC (the theme music for this zone is also phenomenal and is based off another certain location in the MSQ).
By the way, another very, very, very, loose nod to Dune ... at least in my mind...could be found within the latter portion of the lovely theme song for Ul'Dah... if you have a chance, listen to Bryan Tyler's "The Arrival of Lady Jessica" theme (Paul Atreides' mother) used in the Dune series. Soken is just wonderful in making an original that captures a small hint of that feel but is unique to Ul'Dah.
Genius.
