    FFXIV Launcher Slow/Unresponsive (Black Screen)

    Ever since the most recent patch, the FFXIV Launcher loads as a black screen and remains that way for a few mins.

    Sometimes, I've to close and open it a few times before the input fields load.

    After keying in the password,OTP number and clicking on the Login button, sometimes there's no response from the Launcher. Which results in me closing and opening the launcher a few more times.

    I've tried resetting Internet Explorer settings,allowing cookies/adding exceptions for ffxiv.com etc but the issue still persists.

    My Win 10/Internet Explorer is fully updated.

    Please advise.

    Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

    A black screen on the launcher is usually the result of a connection issue. This can come from multiple things so we have a few suggestions that might help the situation.

    -Make sure you are on a wired connection as opposed to wireless.

    -Make sure your anti-virus/firewall has the appropriate exceptions for Final Fantasy XIV

    -Reset your router by turning it off for a few minutes, then back on

    -Check the following Port Ranges on your router/modem to ensure that they have been opened:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040
    Your ISP can open these ports for you.
