Seasonal Event Items.

So whenever we get a seasonal even like say Halloween, often times there are rewards such as minions, mounts, or furnishings. When the season ends you can no longer get those rewards. Then a few months or a year later they add those rewards to the Cash Shop so that people that were not playing at the time of the seasonal event can get them. Which is fine. It really is.

My complaint is that when that same season even comes around again, again using Halloween as an example, why can't they put the items that have already been in the game back into the game while the seasonal event is going on again. I guess the only real answer is because "they are making money doing it this way."

I just think that when a seasonal event comes around, which is only once a year and only for a few weeks at best, all the past rewards should be available during the event, even if you have to make them cost more seasonal currency than the current rewards.

That would be the nice (and really spiffy thing to do), but alas, $$$$$$.

I think they might be able to allow players to grind a season, past the event's current rewards itself, for a choice of one item from a past season perhaps as a way to be nice?

At a rate like that you couldn't catch up on past seasonal content without spending money, so someone you might call a "whale" (buys a lot of stuff, makes up the majority of cash shop purchases) would still do so.. but others would be more friendly to the idea. Like with valentines you do the maze a few times to get the current rewards, then you go in again a few more times and get enough points to purchase the left side mount (next year you can get the other side).

Although they certainly don't have to as you said, which means they probably wont.

Imo they should also shift the cash shop to other FF games, and leave the stuff that would make sense to exist in the world already be so (Slepnir not in the cash shop, Lulu outfit in the cash shop). Once a franchise has X number of items it could be neat to have each year on some specific date a mini event from that game to earn one of said items, or more conservatively on the anniversary event you get some kupo exchange nut that works for one item on the shop. Although I was originally imagining this could be the new veteran reward system, every few months you get some kupo cash for the cash shop (which could be stored up to purchase large items, used right away on small stuff, or used in conjunction with real cash like a coupon sort of thing).

At the very least they could have a few of those items available each year, with the rest being 'premium'.

See I don't know why they stopped doing this as there were early summer events where you could get the past year's swim suits and Yukatas. I think even the Starlight celebration at least the first one was like this.
