Best wy to level up

What is a good way to get to the next level after you basically run out of quests. Is it Fates or is in Volunteering for Dungeons. Since story quests have a minimum level required if your pretty much just following the story there is not near enough quests to level just on quests. For example I am trying to get from level 56 to 57. I have done all the quests that I can and I am only about 2/3 of the way to level 57.

Do the daily dungeon roulettes, try Palace of the Dead, run the highest dungeon you have available, do the daily hunting log or fates while waiting in queue.

Leveling roulette is usually the best bang for your buck, but you can only do that once a day.

Beyond that, it's merely whatever you hate the least:
- The most level-appropriate dungeon (The Aery for Lv56)**
- Palace of the dead
- FATEs while you're queued for whatever
- Daily beastmen quests (for your level range, the Vanu Vanu and/or Vath quests will give you the most exp)
- other roulettes (main story, 50/60, guildhests)
- Guildleves
- Other sidequests in the Heavensward zones (I doubt you've completed them all, if this is your first job)


**Unless you're a healer or tank, the queue times might be pretty bad (especially now, during the dreadful lull between the last major patch and the upcoming expansion). During the queue time, you can run FATEs as well, but I hope you're able to solo them, because I doubt there's very many people running around the Heavensward zones doing FATEs anymore. Some people hate running the same dungeons over and over though, so maybe that's not your cup of tea.

The forum profile is rarely accurate. The OP is a 56 RDM.

My last job quest I believe was at 55 and I did that for Red Mage. I have also done the job quest for Scholar and Summoner up to 50 Although my equipment level is around 100-110 for them and my main Red Mage is at 135. Thank you for the suggestions everyone.

I did all the quests that where available in Ishgard and Sea of Clouds in Heavensward.

I wonder how our experiences were so different with leveling in Heavensward. I was level 60 long before I even got the Aery dungeon unlocked. I have 3 at 60 and just made it to Asyz Lla

So your saying you leveled all the way to 60 with just quests and nothing else. No guild leves, No palace of the dead . No dailies, no fates.

My experience on levelling was a strange one. First off I am on one of those servers that gets the road to 60 buff and I actually hit level 60 before I set foot in Ishgard by only doing the main story quests and hunting log. I did not do any roulettes with my "main" class at all as I did not want to be insanely over levelled. Oh I take that back I did do the delivery moogle quests and only whatever FATEs I needed to for the challenge log.

It will be a different story for the other classes I start to level once I complete the MSQ - darn people keep on adding things to it too!

I got all jobs to 70 before even the "road to 60" buff existed.

Today, the fastest multijob levelling path I think is, in order of importance:
- main one TANK job and always keep current with main story;
- always do all daily roulettes you can do;
- use POTD up to level 61;
- from 61+, go HoH;
- when you had reach 70, switch to HEALER job and repeat;
- after that, you can go on with all other jobs. I'd recommend take to 70 one at time.

Roulettes as DPS queued with a tank friend will greatly help your queue speed. If you alone, I'm not sure the reward/time of waiting time will make up for a "potd only" strategy.

More important thing is: have fun! If a job is not your thing, change to something other and take that as last thing to do maybe when you have time to kill

If you do all quests - meaning not only the main story quests, but also all the sidequests - then you will get more than enough Exp to level up. Just the MSQ won't be enough however.

But even though quests are enough to level or even two jobs, you may well want to level up more classes and jobs.
Options for that include:

Daily roulettes.
The highest level dungeons available.
Palace of the Dead/Heaven on High.
FATEs.
The daily Centurio clan hunt marks.
Levequests
Beast tribe quests.
