Whether it will be Dancer or not is debatable. But based on Yoshi-P's own words, we know the next Job is going to be a healer.
I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.
On a personal level, as someone who gave up playing as a healer after trying out all 3 current healer jobs, I would like dancer to be DPS as it would make it easier for me to try if I ever feel like it. At the same time, I also associate dancer more with being a support DPS than healer anyway.
That said, with the new trust system, I could probably try out dancer (after getting it to 70) even as a healer.
Either way, it doesn't really matter to me. I'm satisfied with SAM so new jobs are only nice as a treat to try out and if they're not for me, then that's fine.

I'm fine with Dancer being a DPS if we end up getting 3 new jobs and the other one is a healer. I really doubt it would happen though, since I could only see Dancer being a melee DPS, and Yoshi already stated in an interview that we have enough of those, which is partly why Gunbreaker was a tank instead. I wouldn't expect a new melee DPS for many years from now.

I wouldn't mind Dancer skipping healer. Honestly they need to fix up the current ones they have. SCH is too good at everything, AST is in a weird spot where half of the job play style is barely functional (Nocturnal sect) and the other is crazy powerful.
WHM doesn't even have an identity currently and is running around doing everything SCH and AST can do but worse.
I'm not exactly eager to throw a 4th healer into this mess.
Don't care about DNC but would probably stop playing if we don't get a new healer because i'm already borred with the ones we have :/
People don't know how to take criticism anymore, and bad play is rewarded with with a coddling mentality. Yes, this is a casual game for the most part - that doesn't mean people need to walk on eggshells in fear of getting reported for pointing out things. This whole 'please don't say anything even slightly negative' mentality that we seem to be going towards and the devs seemingly pushing towards it is creating a disturbing trend.

All dancer's have ever been is a support dps job. Don't remember any final fantasy game that it was ever a pure healer class. Blu should not count for a shadowbringers class but a third stormblood dps class. They should add geomancer or chemist for a new healer class.
Yeah, I agree. I can't wait to play a healer that uses earth, wind, and water to attack and heal.
White Mage is already going through an identity crisis. Adding GEO, which the AST quests already painted as being extremely similar to Astros, would just exacerbate the issue of healer identity.

All the people who are even remotely upset that 5.0 won't have a new dps class really do astound me. DPS arguably have the most attention in the game and players still get upset when the spotlight isn't on them for like a split second.
It's especially annoying when we healers get asked to fetch the bloody Ciurgion for the 20th time when we're standing right there. Hell I would give up an entire class just to have the game actually recognize I'm a healer more than just one instance with Krile. Like how hard is it to replace "wol go get a healer!" to "wol heal them!" in a cut scene for various stuff? :T

Give them the tank excuses for 4.0.
No new DPS jobs because SE want to get existing DPS job balance to a better place.
No new DPS jobs because SE found players try new DPS jobs but then go back to their original role.
No new DPS jobs because SE are going to do big reworks of some existing DPS jobs.
He specified blue mage is a DPS, I don't think he actually specified a role for the 'gunblade user' and dancer, people just assumed. It's a pretty safe bet dancer will be a healer, but it's not "confirmed" as such.
