What if DNC is SHOMHOW a DPS?

I don't understand why everything has to be a DPS for some people.

Because they won't play anything else so they think about their fun over the one of those willing to healing them and tank for them

Somehow? Have you not played FFVI or FFT? It was definitely a DPS job in its early days. It served as a counterpart to Bard, while Bard buffed the party, Dancer debuffed the enemy. Personally I'd be happiest to see Dancer as a support melee DPS and the introduction of Chemist as a healer, but that's unlikely at this point.

A shame they changed BRD from a healer to a DPS between 1.xx and 2.0, then we really would have gotten DNC DPS. Ahh well, what could have been, and all that.

The main issue with BRD being labelled DPS but considered as a heal for the LB was, preciacely the LB.
Wh'en you were in a groupe with 2 BRD, you could forget the LB :/ A good solution would have been the creation of an hybrid categorie, with hybrid LB but SE chosse the easiest path

Three meaning there's no way they're not giving us a healer, so if DNC is a DPS, we'll also be getting a healer class.

Getting tired of all of the DPS-selfish threads here. "I love x class, so it has to be DPS bc healers and tanks don't need anything new, they already have stuff!" Same people, every time. Gunbreaker was tank, you've finally had your 5 days of mourning, and now you're on to DNC.

Most healer mains I know will probably quit the game and have expressed as much if they don't give us something new. Have fun with your DPS queues then.

This wasn't a "DNC needs to be DPS" thread. I was just asking some questions about how would you feel IF DNC was a DPS. I've come to tearms with GNB being a tank and I'm looking forward to playing it. I honestly don't care what DNC is. If it's a Healer I'll unlock it and never touch it. If it's a DPS I'll level it and go back to GNB after words. This was purely a discussion thread not a HATE thread.

This type of argument is not going to stop because it is a mind set born from lacking new tank and healer jobs every single expansion.

Some people just don't care what Job is a Tank or Healer now as long it is a Tank and Healer.

"This game is meant for multi-classing" says all of the DPS demanding that the next class be DPS or else. "This game is meant for multi-classing," says all of the DPS complaining that Gunbreaker is a tank, and not a DPS.

I can't even get 90% of the DPS in my FC to even consider rolling a tank or a healer, even though we have enough players to field three whole groups on our EX farming nights - they'd rather take their chances and get into one group a weekend since we only have 3 healers and 3 tanks, not even enough for two groups to go at a time. Tanking and healing "just isn't fun" to them. Which is fine - but it's in direct opposition of "this game is meant for multi-classing".

DPS queues say otherwise, too: 25-45m versus 5m, max (for anything other than alliance raids). That's a lot more than can be accounted for by the context of "there's twice as many dps as healers/tanks for 4/8-mans".

I have two healers, two dps and a tank at 70. My next 70 is going to be either a DPS or a tank (I think I like PLD more than DRK). I have no issues multiclassing - but I have issues in the fact that I keep being told that it's not fair that I want another class of my preferred role. Especially when it's DPS telling me to "stop being divisive."
