If this is directed to me, I actually only have time to do a lot of my playing Friday~Sunday. Monday~Thursday I have classes, and any free evening time I have is usually spent raiding on Tuesday/Wednesday/(sometimes) Thursday evenings before I have to get off to do homework and the like. I try to do as much as my homework on campus between classes, but it doesn’t always work out that way.
That being said, you’re speaking from having a lack of time, but what happens if you run the alliance raid once and fail to get a Need and Greed drop? Won’t you still have to run it over again unti you satisfy your 2 drop threshold anyways?
There’s really no need for this. Not when the game barfs other methods of getting gear at the players. And, unless you’re planning to do Savage, the Augmented Crafted (which is i390 as well; same as the Orbonne) or the Unaugmented Tomestone gear is more than enough for all the content that will come out until the expansion releases. If you’re trying to get your jobs to a certain item level before then, well you have plenty of time. EA isn’t until June 28, so the game won’t go down until a few days before then (I believe it’s usually 48 hours of downtime).
In terms of time, you can easily get to your 450 cap by doing 1 Expert Roulette a day for 5 days — 90 Genesis x 5 days = 450. The average Expert Roulette is probably ~20 mins. If you want to factor in DPS queues, ~1 hour at the absolute most. You have until a few days before June 28 to get any and all jobs you play to a decent item level. And everything you mentioned is stuff that requires a shitload of time to achieve, especially since it happens often for me that nothing drops at all from raids and I am not a crafter for several reasons.
So the only option I have is get stuff from tomestones and I guess I'm not as patient as some of you are.
In terms of patience, I don’t bother prioritizing gear for jobs I don’t hardly play. If I happen to get a drop for them, cool. If I have extra tomestones to spend, cool. But as long as the main jobs I play are geared, I’m fairly content.
