Shadowbringers, a love story

So if there is one thing that FFXIV is lacking, it's any real or true love story. Sure you hear of see a random character pine over another. Livia and Gaius, Urianger and Moenbryda. But there is no real love story. Actually real love stories is something a lot of mmos lack although its not at all far fetched in an FF game.

So, I am hoping we will finally see one in Shadowbringers and I hope it is between the two characters I have wanted to get together since the get go. Minfilia and Thancred.

Now I know I know, "she is just a child in the trailer", but it could be that she had to be reborn after the events on the first shard and is aging quickly, as they seem to do in tropes like this, then she could reasonably get back to the Minfilia we know, and if Thancred is crossing shards to save her what could be a better set up for a real Rosa and Cecil, Yuna and Tidus, Rydia and Edge sort of love story?

We all know he loves her deeply anyway and that she doesn't seem to know since he is so guarded.

Idk I think it would just be lovely. Esp in all the chaos that is about to ensue, if we just had this story unfold on the side.

I'd prefer things to remain vague across the board so that players themselves can privately contemplate any relationships that may or may not happen behind closed doors.

If Shadowbringers is gonna be as dark as they want to hint at, and we do get a "love story" you're looking at a repeat of the Vault and/or an Automata-esque love story that's more tragedy and heartbreak than it is heartwarming love.

Eh, almost. That relationship was not the foundation for the Dragonsong War. In fact, that relationship is why Hraesvelgr did not participate in the Dragonsong War.
Ratatoskr being killing by Haldrath and his Knights was what started it.

That's true, but Ishgard did use that relationship, the 'sin' of laying down with dragons, as an ongoing justification for the war for centuries.
