Request: SE, could you please update the Beast Tribe Naming Conventions?

...with all the tribes new to Heavensward and Stormblood? And of course Shadowbringers, after the tribes are properly revealed?

I'm most specifically anticipating the Nu Mou naming conventions, but it makes sense to do them all since the thread doesn't seem to have been updated since ARR.

    It'd be really appreciated!

I hadn't actually noticed this. Good spotting! Hope they update it too.

That information (or lack thereof) is in the Lore Books. That said, the Naming Conventions of the Beast Tribes after ARR is much more simplified and generally less strict then the ARR Beast Tribes are. Some of the naming schemes only mentioned what the names mean in the Beast Tribes Native Language for instance.

Here's a quick and dirty version of all the Beast Tribe naming conventions post ARR.

Churning Mists Moogles: All names have the "Mog" prefix regardless of gender.

Goblins: In addition to the usual mashing together of nouns and adjectives, given names usually end in "ix" or "ox". "Ix" and "ox" roughly mean "handsome male" and "beautiful female" respectively in the Goblin's native language.

Vanu Vanu: The "last name" of the Vanu Vanu is a gender-specific suffix. "Vanu" is for males and "Vali" is for females. They mean "male tribe member" and "female tribe member". Those words aren't used for naming any other species, only the Vanu Vanu.

Gnath: The Gnath don't have names since they are a collective mind. The Vath name themselves whatever personally appeals to them and have no naming convention.

Dragons: While individual dragons do have names in the dragon language, many of them use whatever names humans have given them as their name. Midgardsormr and his children's names is the classic example of this.

Kojin: The Kojin think that the souls that go to inhabit the eggs of their children first inhabits a mundane object to make the transition from the heavens easier and that whatever object the soul was in has an effect on a Kojin's character/personaly. The Kojin are given names based on whatever object their soul inhabited before it went into their egg.

Ananta: They don't have a family name since for them there is only "Ananta" and "everyone else". Their first names are words from the Ananta language that have to do with concepts related to beauty.

Namazu: All names have the "Gyo" prefex regardless of gender.

Thank you for this! I do still think the thread should be updated for sake of ease-of-access for others, however, since it's in one obvious and stickied thread. That, and hopefully we won't have to wait until the SHB lorebook for their respective beast tribe info, lol.
